Way to go with the weight loss! :0) I havfe finally found a protien drink I just love! Its carbsolutions It is sold at walmart in a 4 pack of cans, they are great very well chilled. I like the chocolate, but not the vanilla, and I do not like powder mix ones, and the cans are much handier. It runs $5.87 for 4 cans, it supplys 110 calories and 21 g of protien. I hoe you like them as well.

Topic: RE: nausea after 2 months **gastroplasty**
Donna, I also began getting sick at 2 months. In my case it was accompanied by some severe abdominal pains. I thought that the pain was from vomiting at first then after having several follow up visits with my surgeon I now know it is my gall bladder. Have you experienced any of this type of pain? Pre surgery we were told that rapid weight loss could cause gall bladder problems so I am not surprised, but it has taken almost 3 weeks for the Dr. to pinpoint the problem. I can sympathize with the not knowing. I had VBGB which is the RNY with the band, so I get all the side effects of both procedures. I am not complaining, besides this I think all else will go smoothly. In addition my doctor did put me on prevacid for Acid reflux and that did stop the vomiting, you may want to suggest that. I am with the others though, I would not reccomend you take any herbs without consulting your surgeon or dietitian, we were strictly warned about herbs pre - op. Good luck Leann

Yvonne, I had my surgery 4-22 and after I began working out I got the same pain, mine is gall bladder though. I did begin having it right after I started excercising though so if the pain comes back I will know what it is. Thanks for posting this. Hope you get to feeling better. Leann

Topic: 13 weeks post op and lost 83 pounds!
Hello! to everyone and I hope everyone is doing as great as I am. I feel wonderful and am down 83 pounds and counting. This is really great. I love getting on the scales now and seeing that tab going further down. I actually put the tab on the mark where it was last week and I was thinking " why is this thing not doing the balancing thing it is supposed to? " and the nurse reached over and slid it down 15 pounds lighter. I was estatic! It was just like "oh, my, gosh!" That is a very wonderful feeling and everytime it happens it still shocks me and makes me so proud of myself at the same time. I want to shout it at everyone I meet and end up calling everyone I know to update and boast about it. They are all very supportive of me and so encouraging. Best wishes to everyone and have a wonderful day!

Wow your stats are almost identical to mine - 28yr old 5'6 start weight 252. Surgery date 4/2. Current weight is 174 - I think you are doing great - be patient though the weight will come off - I was a size 20/22 and now am a size 12 comfortably - so you have come a long way - we both have just keep up the good work. I was a little scared though because I hit another plataeu - I only lost 6 lbs this month and was kinda bumbed out until I realize how grateful I am for all the other weight I have loss. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Tia

Topic: RE: Emotional Eating
Hi Lenora, I too am going through this same type of thing. I feel like I am addicted to food. I eat when I am bored, when I am depressed, etc. I am not sure how to handle this. I feel like I am eating even when I am not hungry. I had my surgery April 30, 2003 and I can eat just about anything and not get sick. I get that "stuck" feeling but that is about it! I think that I need to train myself to be disciplined. I am going to bring this up to my nutritionist when I see her next week. I never realized my addiction to food until recently. I feel like if it is there then I have to eat it! I try to do things to take my mind off it, but it seems like nothing works. Please let me know if you have found anything that works to change this habit. Feel free to email me at [email protected] Thanks Melissa

Hi Jan, Look down a few questions on the April list -- we have started the comparison list. There are about 20 people or so who had surgery in April 2003 will all of our stats. Good luck!
