Topic: RE: My first plateau I think? Help!!
Hi Lee, you didn't say where you started?
I was open ryn on 4/8 and began at 226, am now 170, loss of 56 pounds. I also seem to "plateau" about every three or four weeks or after a good 3 pound drop. BTW, a real plateau lasts for at least a month. this is probably just your body playing catch up with its loss.
I have also been told to eat more, right now I am about 800 calories and if I increase input for a few days, I end up losing you kinda have to tweak the system every once in a while I think. you also need MUCH more water or fluid to lose faster. are you doing any high quality protein shakes at all????
write back if you can,

I was told by my doctor that if I hit a plateau, I need to eat more and drink more. digitalhorsewoman.com is an excellent sight to help you with your eating and drinking. I hit a standstill and start eating more. I weigh my food to make sure that I am getting at least 4 to 6 ounces every sitting 5 to six times a day. Eat more often and wait at least an hour to an hour and a half before drinking. You might be washing the food right out of your stomach instead of a gradual draining of food. Water intake is around 200 ounces a day and probably more than I have listed. I am down 80 pounds since April 15th and down over 95 since last summer (I had gallbladder problems and couldn't eat hardly at all without terrible pain). I am firmer now than last year because of swimming, water aerobics, and I just started toning tables because of summer coming to an end and college has not started yet. You have got to get that body moving and water exercises keep the strain off of our joints. Good luck...I think you are doing just great..

Topic: update on comparisons and consistency!
Thank you all for your posts!!!!!!! wow, reading these does more to inspire and get me out of the "impatience" mode than anything else. plus i personally think it is so much better for us to see that while we are all "April Fools", we are each unique is size, age , height, diet now and exercise(that awful eword).
lets try another group effort. I persoanlly find I do best with the most consistent diet plan but due to travel or social obligations, I can't always follow it. for this group response let do these two things. 1. brieflywrite your everyday diet. 2. write your eating out smartly choices
I'll start
breakfast either egg and bacon or 1/4 c cottage cheese and about 12 bluberries( I find I cannot eateither of these slowly)
lunch' rolled turkey with mayo, tuna, salmon, small salad, bocca burger( soy), some cheese
dinner:shrimp with garlic, chicken, fish, crab vegie or salad
always 2 shakes, water and vitamins. snack weigh****chers fudge bar, edy's popsicle or low fat low suagar klondike bar
eating out!
eat off hubbies plate or get only an appetizer like clams casino, hummous, freash mozzarella or salad.
no breads, potatoes, pasta or pastry.
still losing slowly but feel great, head hunger at times, not sure I get the right amount of calories. use fitday.com to record everything.

I had my surgery in Tulsa, OK. I have been one of the lucky ones who have had no problems. I am down 85.5#!! My HgA1c was 8.3 before surgery and only 3 months later (and on no diabetic meds) it is now 5.6. My blood pressure is also way down! This surgery was the best thing I could have ever done for my health. My success is from drinking water, protein, very few carbs. and exercise.

Topic: 12 weeks out and doing great..
Hi everyone,
My surgery was April 23 and I have lost 81 pounds. I had a rough couple of months with severe dehydration and starvation. I was hospitalized for 7 days and 4 of them were in CCU. For some reason, I could not drink anything or eat anything. I would have severe dry heaves and then I became too weak to even walk. The nausea was horrible and finally, a doctor listened to me and treated me with vit B-6 and a sleeping pill called Nissom???? anyway, once I was re-hydrated..4 gallons and started meds all was good. Now I can drink lots of water and just recently broke my plateau. I was stuck at 192 for 3 weeks and woke up yesterday at 190. Thank God...
Hugs to you all
April
