Hi Barbara, I was a slow looser also, and I had been reading some of the post and many use fitday.com I began using it a couple of days ago, and I was amazed at the amout of fat in my diet, I thought I was doing great, with only 650 cal per day counting my protine drinks, plus my water. Well I was getting way too many fatgrams, and carbs and they outdid my protien, I was getting over 56 grams of fat, and only 54 grams of protien. Please check it out, it may be the answer your looking for. :0)
Topic: Am I losing slower than normal?
Hi everyone! First of all I do appreciate each and every pound I lose but think I should be losing a bit better than I am. I lost 27 lbs the first month14 the second month 9 the third month and half way through the forth month only 5. Has anyone else lost at this rate? Is this normal? Seems as this is slowing too much to me....Am I wrong? I struggle getting in at least 50 grams of protein and my water but really work on it. I never want to eat...Great Feeling! But force myself at times. I have been having trouble with keeping food down alot. Had tests done no strictures or leaks. Dr. says no problems. Do alot of walking. More activitynow than the last 10 years. Any suggestions? Thanks, Barbara

Topic: RE: update on comparisons and consistency!
I seem to be getting to the same old habit of trying to not eat again even though I know that food is now an energy source instead of my crutch. Breakfast consists of a scrambled egg, omelet, or carnation instant breakfast. Lunch or dinner is usually 3 chicken tenders w/ 6 fries (cooked on George Foreman Grill); peanut butter cracker; 3 mini corn dogs 2/6 fries; patio mexican dinner; frozen dinner consisting of chicken or turkey. Homemade meals have the one constant of protein beind the staple...Inbetween snacks are popsicles, nsa blue bunny ice cream bars, melons, sf reese's, popcorn... Eating out I try to make sure chicken is the main course with sides that are high in vitamins..I do use my wls card when we eat buffet or I order child portions. I have never had a problem with any eating establishment. Fast food ventures usually entail chicken sandwich w/0 bread or salad. We can eat about anywhere but just make sure we order sides...Mexican food places are my favorite due to refried beans and rice...Potatoes pasta are not an issue but bread is at an alltime minimum.

Hi Robin, Erica in KY, formerly of Alexandria.
1) Yougart for breakfast; snack - half of a protein bar, Lunch pack of salmon, string cheese and sometimes low fat crackers- Snack before dinner is the other half of my protein bar. Dinner usually consists of fish or chicken, stremed vegtables ( mostly brocolli) and a Protein shake before bed.
2) I try not to eat out too much. It just isnt worth it. I can never eat the full meal or appetizer- it just seems to be a waste of money. Then i always worry that they prepare food with added fat- dont' like to take the chance. The few times that i have been out. I stick to grilled chicken salads, even then I have to request no butter on the chicken.
I am curiuos has anyone used the WL Card in restaurants?

I had my surgery 04/30/2003 and have lost 65 pounds to date. It was rough at first, but its easy going now. I have not had any problems with food and my energy level gets better each day. This was the best thing I've done for myself in years.
Topic: RE: slow weight loss
hey gang...here goes...1. lap RNY on 4/18/03 2. 35 y.o. female 5ft 6in. 3. beginning weight: 257lbs 4. current weight: 197lbs. 5. exercise plan: what i plan and what actually gets done are two COMPLETELY different things! i try and walk 3 miles at least once a week, i do Tae-bo and Pilates maybe once a week, i also use free weights and a resistance band once a week. i HATE EXERCISE with a passion but i will have to pray about that! 6. personal wt. goal: i would like to just see myself at 145, my surgeon says i should be about 130-140 so we'll see.
Topic: RE: My first plateau I think? Help!!
Don't let that plateau thing get you down, Lee!
I've found it VERY hard to even eat my first meal of the day before 3pm even, and that's waking up around 7am to a hungry baby each morning. Once I started to find myself going thru a slight plateau, I started to MAKE myself eat something before 10:30am each morning, mostly protein, and then to encourage myself to eat some cheese or beans or some other protein-type snacks here and there, and I MUST say that the results have been awesome! So, you just stick in there, girl. All will work out for you.
Take care and God bless you,
Tess
Topic: RE: PERSONAL - FOR LADIES ONLY!!!
Hey there Tara!
My "friend" visited me on April 26th.....just 4 days prior to my surgery day, and I HONESTLY don't have an explanation for this, but here it is Aug. 3rd and I am STILL dealing with my "friend". I just don't know. I guess it's a hormone-type thing all the way around, but I can't wait until she leaves. Anyhow, my PCP had me get a sonogram a while back to confirm that it was or wasn't possible endometriosis, but thank God it's not. In MY situation, it may be just a combination of going thru major surgery, the eating changes, rapid weight loss, PLUS the fact that I take a birth control shot every 3 months. I go in again for that shot in about a week, and my PCP said we'd check further into it if things don't change at that point. If you get a chance, please pass this info along to your physician and, if you don't mind, please let me know what he thinks..........as far as this also being considered to be "normal".
Thanks for listening,
Tess
