Chrisy, You are doing great! I am not down as far as I would like to be but there have been lots of "cir****tances" for me of late. But I have decided to turn it around and have put myself firmly back on the band-wagon and am starting to lose again. I always love to see success stories like yours - it reminds me of what a great tool the band is! Kiera Starting over 15 July @ 265 / 261 short term goal 220 - would like to see 165 eventually.

Topic: 3 days out from BR & scar revision...
I did extremely well with my surgery. I have been straightening the house & I cooked dinner last night. Diana Norieka stopped by yesterday. So, she already saw the new "GIRLS"! I must say... They are really pretty! They are "VERY PERKY"! I am a full "D"! Just what I wanted to be! He reopened most of my abdominoplasty incision. All, but maybe, 3 inches of it. He revised it by cutting all of the scar tissue out, lowering it about 2 centimeters & cutting the dog ears off. He revised the small incision on my back, that had dimpled. He did some lipo on the sides of my breasts, because I wanted them more narrow & perky, as opposed to being wide. I am very happy with my results. I feel that my transformation is over now! I miss you guys. If, any of you want to stop by for a visit... Please do. You can call me at 410 760 1442. Thanks for caring! Hugs, Karen

Topic: surgery in 46 hours
7-9-05 I have been meaning to get caught up, but couldn't seem to find the time. I am having a breast reduction, & an abdominoplasty revision done on Mon. 7-11-05, at 7:30 AM. I will be staying overnight at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. The surgery is scheduled to last 8 hours! I have been very concerned about what would be the 'right' cup size for me. I started this journey out wearing a 48F. Now, I wear a 38F. My surgeon & I have discussed my desired out come at great lengths. I want to remain a full C to a D. I can't imagine being smaller then a full C, for myself. However, the main reason that I am paying $9200.00 (out of pocket) for this procedure, is because my backs hurts me so badly, constantly. I tried to get ins to pay. They would only pay if I had 5 lbs of breast tissue removed. My surgeon said that would make me a B cup! I appealed their decision & was denied, again. So, here I am having it done self pay. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & may God continue to bless us, all. Hugs, Karen

Topic: 2 Yrs out and holding
I am a little over two years out and down 120 lbs. I have had a really bad time with hernias. Two surgeries. The last one was really serious. My intestines had grown around the mesh form the last one. it took 3 hrs to redo and fix three new hernias. I am back to work and feel great. Even with the hernias I would redo this in a heartbeat. I can walk, run, chace my grandkids, garden shop and shop more in the regular sizes. I wear a 12 pants and 14 top ( I went form a 22-24 and 3X top Old gray haired lady to a blonde size 14 chick. Ha I plan to retire in january and work part time in a womens shelter. My life is so different now. I am sooooo much more healthy. I am still diabetic and have frequent lows but take no meds no shots (Used to take 4 a day) My sugar runs 5.3-5.6 A1c My sleep apnea machine went out the door as well as cholesteral med, asthma inhales and Therapy for feet and arthritis. I do not know why the insurance companies fight this so much They have saved money on me and my medicines since the surgery. Goood luck to those holding for surgery Hang in there life is really good after WLS Chrisy

Topic: RE: What Do You Think, Was it Worth It?
Hi Heather, I have not had the procedure to date, yet I am a candidate. I am truly looking forward to it. I am 56 years old, and a 338lb ball of joy. I have asthma (adult asthma) diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, swelling of the legs. I have to finish all of my program requirements, and then I will be given a surgery date. My hope is that you continued to be blessed and I shall contact you back after everything is over with. e-mail [email protected]. G. Allen

Topic: RE: Still 200lb from goal at 2 year out
I'm so glad someone can relate to what I am going through. Seems like most others who had surgery in 2003 are now having plastic surgery. I am seeing a surgeon for hernia repair and she wants me to lose another 60lbs before she'll do it. She said when she does that she could also lengthen my limbs to increase malabsorption, but d*mn what's the point if I've already lost the 60lbs...I need some help NOW! It's all very frustrating. I'm also seeing a therapist to address the emotional eating that came back over the past year since I've had a lot of stress with moving and other medical problems. Sarah
