Hi everyone! I am out a little over 6 months and have lost 106lbs. to date. I have about 44 more to go, but what a difference!!! I have recently had to replace all my clothes. I am still working on that. I have to buy all new dress clothes for work. It is so weird shopping now. I seem to want to gravitate to my old habitat of the Plus Size Department, but there I find not too much fits nicely on me anymore. I can't fathom that the pants I have recently bought are getting baggy on me already. I LOVE IT!!! I feel healthier than I have in years! I took pictures at 100lbs. lost, and a before (taken day before surgery) picture to compare, and if you want to see them just go to my profile. Well wishes to everyone, no matter where you are on your journey!!! Take care, Colleen ~~278/172/128??

yes I know what you mean. they say hello and you are like well I was the same inside before, but not worth a hello then?? Wow you have lost fast I was 278 and now am 206, the latest.. I am a slow looser, but "fitday.com" has helped speed things up. Just keeping track and going low carb, has made things start to move off again. Plus I can keep track of my protien as I could not handel the drinks.. fitday helps me keep track of my vitamins, getting more protien and watching my vitamins has helped me stop loosing hair, and I hope to get my Nails back soon too. I eat one salmon Steak almost every morning, and it has really helped my nutrition. Plus i am getting used to them, and they are not so yuck now.. lol I have a pair of size 12 pants, now.. and Wow they are starting to creep down off my hips already...

I just passed my 60th Birthday last week and what a difference a year makes. I am 6 months out now and down 86# I will have hernia repair 12-13-03 and am feeling great. I have no more sleep apnea, diabetes shots, and arthritis meds. I would never have believed I could lose this much weight and have such a life change. I am still losing stedily at 8-12 lbs. a month. I will be at goal wieght in 15 more lbs. but I set my goal high and if I continue to lose on another 20 lbs. that will still be in the ideal weight for my height. I have realized how tiny (i am 5'2") I really am now that my body is shrinking. My next project is to get rid of the gery/white hair. I am going to put color on it and get it restyled to go with my new body. Good luck to everyone in their journey Chrisy D

Topic: RE: LOSSES IN WEIGHT AND HAIR
Hi Gwen, I had surgery on 4-14-2003. I too have lost hair...ALL OF IT. Actually, I had alopecia for a few years and about 3 months ago, I began to loose the rest of my hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, you name it. I am down 107 pounds at 6 months post-op. I had problems with energy as well, but my problem stemmed from anemia. Did you have yourself checked out with the surgeon? I am currenlty getting iron replacement therapy and with each session, I feel better. Make sure you continue to take vitamins. Hang in there girl. It's all worth while. From what I understand, the hair comes back (won't for me, but I can laugh about it now), but it does come back. My food intake is much better. WOOOO it was horrible at first. At least now I can eat a small sandwhich (trust me when I say small). You'll be fine hunny. Don't let it get you down. If you need anything, let me know.

Topic: RE: Hello all
My surgery date was April 3, 2003 and I have lost 112lbs. I still can't believe I will keep losing. I do feel like a new person with more energy and healthy. It is so nice not to have to take any medicine. I am good about taking my vitamins and protein. I have has some hair loss, but feel that is a small price to pay. I am happy for everyone who is having success, it is fun to be part of a great group of people who know what we are going through.

Hi Leona, it seems like you are just about average in the weight loss. I myself was also a bit discouraged to have only lost 72lbs. Today is my 6 month anniversary and I have been on a plataue (spelling??) for the whole month of October. I haven't lost a single pound all month. But I will keep the faith that this is all normal and you and I will both be victorious. Lets give it a year to see what happens. I bet we will both be surprised. I've gone from a 30/32 to 18/20 and that is darn good when you think about it.
