I am down -140. I am now 160 and would like to lost another 10 pounds but have been stuck here for a while. It is so exciting to read about everyone's journey! You do know we all are awesome! Can you believe we did it???? I have to think sometimes, Did I really do this. Was I really that big? It seems it has been much longer than 9 months! I am so excited for everyone! Good Luck!

Hey there fellow "Losers who are WINNERS!" my name is Cherisse and I am 9 months as of the 29th of Jan. I started at 579lbs and have lost 160lbs as of Jan 9th, 2004. I am simply amazed at my progress! I have super tips to avoid tummy troubles and introducing new foods into your brand new plumbing! We have to remember to help the newbies on their journey, as the best way to receive a blessing is to be one! Stay focused and keep working hard for your health!

Congrats Laurie. Isn't it great to be able to do things that you couldn't less than a year ago? I am down 114 and I am now wearing the size I wore in high school. Before children. They have never seen me this happy and this small( still pretty big, but much smaller than before).

1/7/04 Happy new year everyone! I know I have been bad about updating. I think it's because the loss has been so slow. I am 9 months post op today and I am down 70 lbs. Just goes to show you that even when it is slow, you blink and 9 months have gone by. I feel so much better... only 30 lbs to go to goal. I think I can do it this time. I did join Weigh****chers recently. Something I thought I would never have to do again, so I was a little sad about that. But you know what? It is different this time. First of all because your tummy is smaller you feel satisfied. Second, because I like "good food" (veggies, etc) much more than I used to before. I am amazed at how much fish I eat now. I would rather have fish than anything. I would have never said that before. My body on the other hand, is not "bouncing back" the way it used to in the past when losing weight. I guess its age. At this same weight years before I could wear smaller clothing. I have had a tummy tuck fund going for a while, but I think I need to add a breast lift to it as well. Poor girls have gone way south.. lol. So, I think in about 20 lbs or so I will start looking into surgeons. All in all this has still been a great experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat, even though so many have lost faster than I have.

12-22-03: Merry Christmas everyone! Life is so much better then it was last Christmas! I have lost -85 lbs, -123.75 inches, & 6 to 7 clothing sizes! I am wearing a regular Large, or size 16 in regular clothes, size 18 in jeans (not stretchy!) I think that I am ready to drop a size, actually. I have dropped 4 bra sizes. Just #'s, not cup size! HEHE! I have so much to be grateful for. My family, friends, good health, my home & my own business! My lovely daughter is my greatest gift. My Dad is doing well after having had a mini stroke. Praise God! I have been gifted with wonderful friends that really care about me. I have begun to go out with my friends & date. Yes, I did say date... HEHE, again! I am beginng to get the life that I want. Now, if I can convince my daughter to let up on me about dating, life will really be great! It seems that she has had me to her self, just a wee bit too long. It is going to take a really emotionally stable man to break through her insecurities. I continue to pray for this miracle. I want a full life. My dating seems to threaten her security. It shouldn't. She will always be first in my life, besides God. I'll write again next month. Til then...

Topic: Oh to be "small"......
Just spouting this morning about being "small". My whole life I was heavy, very heavy. When I had my surgery, I was about 315, having lost 15 pounds from my highest weght of 330. Nowadays I hit the scale at 170. I am about a size 11, my boyfriend can lift & carry me! This has been the right up there in happy times in my life! I hope everyone else is feeling great, too!
