1. I stopped loosing hair at about 7 months post op, but I had to undergo another surgery and it started all over again, and now 13 months post op my hair is looking better and healthier, a GREAT product to use is called "got 2b glued" its a hair glue that really stiffens and thickens if you have a short hair cut, this works great with the new hair styles, I bought it at walmart for about $6.00, and it helps to also but got 2b squeeky clean to wa**** out. :0)
2. still hanging and flopping, I did water arobics and deep water aquatread.
3. finally at 1 year post op I can fit in much smaller clothes and my body isnt quite as distorted, and looking good in clothing, shorts and cute tops...
4.hang on be patient, and enjoy the ride!!! It only gets better :0)
Remember to keep up the vitamins, calcium citrate, (get a dexa scan so you know you bone density, You dont want ostioperosis),B12 sublinguele, for energy, water to flush the fat and toxins, exercise to tone, and enjoy the RIDE!!! :dance
Topic: POLL: PLEASE HELP THE DEC.'03 FRUMPIES!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm a member of the December '03 board, and I was wondering if you could give us some good news.......
Quite a few of us are in that stage where we're losing our hair, everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING is either flat, hanging, or sliding downward in rolls and folds, the loss is slowing, and we're feeling pretty dumpy and depressed. I thought I would ask all of YOU if we can expect some relief from all of this anytime soon. Here are our questions:
When did you stop losing your hair?
Did your hanging, flopping, folded body parts retract at least SOMEWHAT post-5 months? Did you do ANYTHING special that you feel may have helped ?
At what month did you feel that you had broken out of this icky bald, floppy, nothing-fits-quite-right stage?
What advice would you give your poor December '03 sisters to get them out of the "frumpies"?
Mind you, we are all GLAD that we did this, we're just in a bad phase right now, and could use some kind words of wisdom from your collective experience!
Thanks SO MUCH for sharing!!

Topic: Hernia/tt scheduled surgery covered by insurance
I got the news today that the surgery is going to be covered except for a copay of 150.00. This is great news for me. I sent pictures and called everyday to get this going. In fact, I sent the pictures twice because they couldn't find the first set. I thought I would let everyone know that perseverance does pay off.

Topic: RE: Hernia/tt scheduled May 17th
HI Patti, I am in the same boat as you I too have a large incesional hernia that needs to be repaired also. I have bc/bs Indiana, did you have any trouble getting approved for the tt hospital stay, since hernias are done as out patient? I started out close to the same weight as you but I need to loose about 15 pounds to get the tt/panni, and I would like to do them both at the same time as the hernia repair. I am wearing a neoprene binder for support. I am hoping to have breast reduction before the tt, have you or are you going to undergo breast reduction, and if so how was bc/bs in approving it for you? How long did it take you to get approved? Sorry for all the questions. Good luck to you and your hernia/repair, and I will keep you in my prayers. You may email me privetly if you want.

I am excited and very scared at the same time. I have feelings of dread with going through yet another surgery but the hernia is very large now and I am like I was over a year ago and that is limited in what I can do. I feel frustrated having to be on the sidelines while others do the things I was doing this past year.
I am at a standstill on weightloss and wish that I could lose more but at 175 I am very happy with it. It is strange to feel bones again and somewhat daunting with the sagging skin issues. Mostly the skin is in the arms and legs and the drooping size 38 longs but those issues will have to wait for awhile.
Has anyone else went in for these surgeries. I am dreading getting the anchor incisions but I know it is not something I have a choice in. I have heard the pain is excrutiating but I will deal somehow. Keep me in your prayers.
