I was 2 year post op on April 7th and haven't lost any weight since last May. I weigh about 330, yo-yo back and forth between 320-330. I have lost about 180 overall but only 140 since surgery. My surgeons best goal for me was 220, as of now my new surgeon (I moved), wants to me lose 60 more pounds before she will repair my hernia (it's huge), and do TT, I have even more fat and skin on my stomach than people who weighed more than my, the lipodema/lymphedema affects my abdomen also. Anyone else this far out and still have a ways to go? How are you dealing? ~Sarah

I lost 170 within the first year, but have not lost anymore in the last year I've gained back 20 pounds or so. So, I'm still hovering around 300-310 pounds. I'm having a really tough time emotionally with this and feel like such a failure. I talked to my surgeon and he wants me to have a scope with sclerotherapy, but he doesn't do it and his partner isn't covered by my insurance. So, I'm trying to find a doc that will do it. If that doesn't work, I'm going to talk to my surgeon about getting a revision. I'm still about 175 pounds overweight and need to get more weight off! So, no real suggestions, but know that I completely understand where you are at. Julia

I'm so glad someone can relate to what I am going through. Seems like most others who had surgery in 2003 are now having plastic surgery. I am seeing a surgeon for hernia repair and she wants me to lose another 60lbs before she'll do it. She said when she does that she could also lengthen my limbs to increase malabsorption, but d*mn what's the point if I've already lost the 60lbs...I need some help NOW! It's all very frustrating. I'm also seeing a therapist to address the emotional eating that came back over the past year since I've had a lot of stress with moving and other medical problems. Sarah

Sarah, how is it going?? Any developments? I was reading your post and I just wanted to tell you that I think you are doing great. Don't think so hard about what you haven't done, look what you HAVE done - you've LOST 180 and that is NOTHING to sneeze at! Are you still restricted enough? Have you done any specialized diet plans to help jumpstart losing more weight? Kiera Banded 28 April 03 at 299 (320 before that). Lost 70# in just over a year. Maintained that weight for nearly a year because I was trying to conceive, then got pregnant, gained 35# *sigh*. All that is behind me now so I am starting over as of 15 July 05 @ 265 - today I am 255 . Short term goal 220 - long term 165.

No, I can eat more than I think I should be able to. The other day I ate a foot long turkey sub and I was not drinking with it. I felt full, but did not get sick. I see my surgeon on the 19th of Sept.
