Sagging Skin
Hi All:
Can someone help me on how to get my saggin skin in my inner theigh and upper arm area to no be there? I am more embarrassed to wear shorts then 150 pounds ago. I have lose skin on my stomach too. Does anyone else have this problem and what did you do to help the problem?
Thanks,
Lori Riddle
Well short of a tt, theres not much else you can do for your tummy. I had read sometime ago to wear long tight spandex shorts like bicycle racers wear and a short pair of shorts over them, and T shirts, or tops with sleeves. mine are gross too, but if I dont wave and keep my arms close there not too bad, and the shorts are ok , but a bathing suite would be a no no without swimming shorts. I will have to save up to have these surgeries. Good luck, If someone has a good answer I would love to hear it too. Rosemary
It's my understanding that it takes awhile for your skin to catch up after you lose the weight. It also depends on your age and whether or not you were a smoker. There is a gal from our s/g who has lost well over 100 pounds and she has the best looking arms I've seen. She has done it all with lifting weight and exercise. I should mention she is a tae kwan do instructor. When I get a little further out I'm going to have her show me what she did!!!
My dr. mentioned to me that I had good muscle on my tummy, but the only way to get rid of that skin is p.s.
I've heard it helps to build some muscle definition fill out some of the loose skin. I'm trying not to let the wrinkles bother me -- I figure at this point I've earned it. As long as I'm feeling healthy.... I'm 44 - who's going to look anyway!!!

I'm so glad to have happened upon this site. The answer of looking like a sharpea(sp) really made me laugh. I'm there too, with just a 70 pound weightloss. Surgery was 4/7/03. I'm eating too much starch (crackers, pita crisps, anything crunchy). My doc told me I was a carboholic. I think starchaholic is a better word. Why do these old cravings come back? I'm not really good with "real" food. Too dense I think. But then, maybe that's what I'm supposed to feel in this new stomach. Daaaaaaaa, me!
