Need re-assurance!
Am I loosing my mind or what?? Does the weight loss slow down quite abit after 9 or 10 months?? I'm still at 180 and it's been about three weeks since I weighed myself. I started at 281 and now 9.5 months out I'm 180; that's 101 pds. I've very happy about that don't get me wrong but man the weight loss really seems to be slowing down!! I drink two and a half litres of water per day if not more some days and eat about six times a day. I'm also finding that I can eat more at a sitting?! What's up with that!! Does your pouch settle and get a tad larger?? I haven't really talked to anyone about this so any feed back regarding my concerns would be greatly appreciated. I'm freeeeking out that my pouch is going back to normal! But that can't be right!!! I would like to loose 35 more pds. I'm a size 14 now and am 5' 4 inches tall.

Hi Lee! I have read several peoples profiles and most of them have said that they have also slowed down or stopped losing for a couple of weeks then started to lose again. Don't worry if you even put back on a few pounds, they will come back off. I have not had my surgery yet, but I hope to soon. I have been doing a lot of reading so I know what to expect. BE HAPPY!!!!! Paula Long
Hi Lee,
Don't be discouraged. I had my surgery 2 days after yours and I've had a couple times when my weight loss ha**** a plateau. I just try to excerise more and eat more protein and the next thing I know, I've lost 5 more lbs.
I started at 265.5 lbs and I'm currently 158. I'm 5'4" also and just got into the first size 12 jeans I've worn in ages. It will pick up and you'll weigh soon and smile when you see a few more lbs have just dropped off.

Hi, Lee. I am almost 10 months out and have hit a plateau, also. And I can sympathize with you about thinking your pouch is getting larger. I went through the same thing at my 9 month checkup last month. My surgeon said that the pouch will stretch a little but not to what it was before. If you go back to the basics it will kick start your weight loss again but you need to exercise, too. Keep up the good work and you will lose that last 35 lbs. I never thought I would be normal sized but I am now and I love it, even though I still have another 20 lbs to lose! I was fat as a child and adult. This is the first time in my life I have been 'normal'.

Hello. I just hit the one year mark yesterday. I too hit points that I would not loose or I would even gain a pound or two. In the long run it all comes off. You just need to remember to be kind to your body. It is working its little heart out to bring you back to the healthy you!! I still have 30 lbs to go and I can eat more than before. I have been told that for me it is a good thing that it has been a slower process than for some. I am 50 years old and dont have the baggy skin thing like those who loose very rapidly. That is SUCH a God send. Each of us is different. Just make sure and exercise and drink tons!! Good luck on the rest of the journey. Keep up the good work! Kathey
Hi Kathey! Thank you so much for your reponse! I really was in a rut and have broken it I think. It's just that it comes off so slow now!!! It's wild, like now I'm maybe loosing a the most 4 or 5 pds. per month?! What's up with that!! Anyway I'm thankful that I'm down 110 last time I checked and have about 25 more to go or so. I just pray it ALL comes off!
Thanks again for your support! It's so nice to know you're not the only one going through these little rough times in the weight loss battle.
