I only lost 5 pds. this month! I am 7 months out and have lost 83 pds. My husband thinks I don't eat enough. I think I eat to much?! I think maybe because I drink water right after a meal, (because I'm thirsty), makes a difference? I've heard and I don't know if it's true that if you don't wait at least a 1/2 hour after eating that you wash away the food so to speak and all the nutrients don't get absorbed so it's like you didn't eat that whole meal?? Is this true?? Does anyone know? I drink anywhere from 1 litre to over two litres of water per day and eat 3 or 4 small meals per day. What else can I do to speed things up?? Thanks for your imput! I am in the same boat. I started at around 250 and hold steady at 185. i will be 7 months on the 29th... I think I eat too many carbs, even if they are small in quantity and do drink a little bit after or during a meal. I will tell u that all my labs came out perfect... I really hope to loose 40 more pounds. i am going to the dr. tomorrow ,, so lets see! Good Luck, Edith

Hi Lee... I had surgery in April also... I'm now 6.5 months out a down 85lbs...As far as I'm concerned you are right on track. The thing about drinking...DONT....wait at least a half hour before you drink. What you say is absolutely true...it washes the food down way too fast...then your hungry again.. Also..I reccommend 5 or 6 small meals a day, carbs arent neccessarily bad, it just depends on how much you take in. Do you excersise??? I could pretty much eat what I want....I just do ity in moderation and most of it is protein..I work out 5 days a week..including weight training, which is highly reccommended, builds muscle and burns calories.....keep me posted.. hugs Karol 330/245/150

Hi Lee, Your husband may be right about not eating enough. My surgeon told me that if I get to a standstill then I probably am not getting enough to eat. Your body is like a car, if you run it on empty you eventually run out of gas. If you keep it full then it will run right. I eat about every 3 hours and wait at least an hour after I eat to drink. It is difficult but it can be done. I have lost to date 116 pounds and well over that in inches. I exercise at least 3 times a week. My beginning weight was 319 and am currently at 203. I know being a heavy weight like I was means that I will lose more faster but I think that eating and drinking are the key. Exercise will get you over the hump and will tone the body to an extent. You are doing great and don't cut yourself short about your weight loss. Just remember how we were before our surgery in April. You've come a long way baby. Talk Later, Patti

Hi Lee, I'm right there with you I have lost 82 pounds and had open RNY 4/24/03, I think sometimes I dont eat enough either and sometimes its hard, I'm not hungery, but when I force myself, the weightloss picks up, and I have started doing aqua tread and water arobics to help speed up my matabolisum. It looks like several of us are right here in the 80's so were doing fine. Good lck and keep up the good work.
