I am 6 months post op, feeling pretty good although I am only down 72 lbs. I am discouraged because I think I should be loosing more. Guess it seems unfair all we put our poor bodies through and not feeling as though I am loosing it right. Iam loosing more hair than weight. I am walking daily, something I couldn't do before. That's great!!!! I don't always know what is a normal amount of food I should be taking in. I have read what others are loosing at this point and am discouraged. I need to see Dr. Ottoman the end of the month, so maybe I will feel better about some things then. I still have alot of unusal stomache pains, don't know if that is common. Other than that I feel good and I have a job at the Art Center now. I don't feel I am calling attention to myself because Iam so over weight that everyone is looking at me. It's all mostly positive. Thank you all for all the questions that are posted , it sure has helped me with some of the same ones I have and needed to hear. Thank you Eric for contacting me. Leona Martinez

72 pounds...72 POUNDS...You have lost 72 pounds....72 pounds that will never come back. 72 pounds that have increased your energy and of course people are looking, they can tell that something positive is going on with you...We reek aura...They can see it even if you can't...Be proud of what you have accomplished, I am...My doctor told me that if I am not losing enough that I need to INCREASE my eating. Keep a tab on how much you are eating. Remember that you will only absorb so many nutrients and because of this we have to fuel our gas tank. If you don't keep gas in your car, you will run out of gas and have to walk..If you don't keep your body feed and nutrient bound, we all run out of fuel and your body will go into a fight and flight mode. It will not want to let loose that excess because it is not getting enough to let it know it is okay. You have lost 72 pounds that will never come back. I don't know about you but everytime I lost that 72 pounds I gained it back and more...Pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself. Loss is Loss and this is one of the best losses you will ever have..I AM SO PROUD..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.. talk later, Patti

Leona, believe me I feel the same way that you do. Our weight loss is very simular. I got on a web site last night that told me that our weight loss is right on track. We are in the average loss range. So, let's just try to be really proud of ourselves & give up our negative thought patterns toward ourselves that we have had in the past.... Good luck & congrats you are doing GREAT!

Hi Leona, it seems like you are just about average in the weight loss. I myself was also a bit discouraged to have only lost 72lbs. Today is my 6 month anniversary and I have been on a plataue (spelling??) for the whole month of October. I haven't lost a single pound all month. But I will keep the faith that this is all normal and you and I will both be victorious. Lets give it a year to see what happens. I bet we will both be surprised. I've gone from a 30/32 to 18/20 and that is darn good when you think about it.
