Hi everyone! First of all I do appreciate each and every pound I lose but think I should be losing a bit better than I am. I lost 27 lbs the first month14 the second month 9 the third month and half way through the forth month only 5. Has anyone else lost at this rate? Is this normal? Seems as this is slowing too much to me....Am I wrong? I struggle getting in at least 50 grams of protein and my water but really work on it. I never want to eat...Great Feeling! But force myself at times. I have been having trouble with keeping food down alot. Had tests done no strictures or leaks. Dr. says no problems. Do alot of walking. More activitynow than the last 10 years. Any suggestions? Thanks, Barbara

Hi Barbara, I was a slow looser also, and I had been reading some of the post and many use fitday.com I began using it a couple of days ago, and I was amazed at the amout of fat in my diet, I thought I was doing great, with only 650 cal per day counting my protine drinks, plus my water. Well I was getting way too many fatgrams, and carbs and they outdid my protien, I was getting over 56 grams of fat, and only 54 grams of protien. Please check it out, it may be the answer your looking for. :0)

I am losing at a similar rate, 63 lbs in 4 months, and it seems really fast to me, compared to past weight loss efforts!!! I am pleased that so far, my skin is keeping up. I am walking only, and eating carefully. There are still many things I cannot eat -- bread, pasta, whole meats, salad. It seems like the protein shakes really make a difference. I was told to try for 2 each day. I rarely get more than 1 but when I want to stimulate the loss, that's what does it.

Hi Barbara, loss is dependent too on where you started! I began at 226, now 168 in 18 weeks, yes, my loss has slowed down, see my profile. you are dooing just fine, average your loss by the number of weeks out and you know you are right on track. be well, do the protein shakes and yes, fitday.com has also made me keep better track of the foods and i eatand the hidden carbs and fat we forget are there. keep it up, Robin in Va

I think it depends on what weight you start at. I started at 250 lbs and I have lost a total of 67 lbs. I thought that was slow also considering that my best friend had lost over 100 lbs by that time. She also started at a weight of 373 lbs. I also think everyone is different. Some lose it fast, some lose it slow, we just have to rely on what nature wants us to lose. I go for weeks at a time without losing anything and then all of a sudden I have lost 5 - 10 lbs. So don't worry about it... The rate you are losing at is meant for you!!!

I, too, have reached my 6 month plateau...frustrating after losing almost 8-10# per month to just stop losing ! Started at 262, have been bouncing between 197 and 200. (Feels great to run again) Starting to doubt my 150 goal...130 sounds better. Have started writing everything that I eat down again (tolerate most things except carbs) and was advised by Dr Mallouf that working 12 hour shifts on a med-surg floor doesnt count as excercise....one needs to physically SWEAT 20 min/3-4 times/wk. Stationary bike, and started weight training. Find it hard to make the time to do it. Guess its time to start really working. Am really glad to hear others are experiencing these same problems...going to try to incorporate another protein drink in. They seem to keep me from feeling hungry.
