I know I am not suppose to compare myself to others. I was wondering what the average weight loss has been for this group of people- you know the ones who had surgery in April. I am just curious to see if I am doing ok. Guess I need a little reassurance. I have been having a tough time sticking to the right foods. My stats are 5'6" start weight of 251, current weight-189-190 (loss of about 60#'s) my goal is 150 and my doctors goal is 144. I had surgery on the 2rd of April. Anyone want to share their information?

I started at 319 and have lost 74 pounds since Tax Day April 15, 2003. I have hit several plateaus and each time increased water and eating. My surg told me that I needed to increase both to get my body over the starvation mode. All makes sense if you think of food as fuel. You can't run your car on an empty tank and neither can I run my body either. I eat about anything I want but always try to eat proteins. I eat alot of chicken strips, nuggets, and fries all cooked on a George Foreman Grill. Protein Protein Protein First...

Hello, I also had my Lap RNY on April 2, 2003. I started out at 270#, I am 5'5". My current wt. is 208-210 depending on the day. I am trying to limit my carbs and eat mostly protein I have a protein shake in the morning, usually a protein bar for lunch, and eat chicken, ground beef, I also love nuts ,sunflower kernals, and almonds. My wt loss is around 60# also. I think you are doing fine, Remember we are considered lightweights and do not lose as fast. Hang in there. Lots of Love and Luck. Helen

Hi there, I had surgery on April 28th and to date (07/21/03) have lost 62 lbs. I recently reached a plateau because I had been feeling very nauseous and had not been able to eat very much. I increase water intake and have been trying to increase food intake with the hopes that my loss will continue.

Hi Jan, Look down a few questions on the April list -- we have started the comparison list. There are about 20 people or so who had surgery in April 2003 will all of our stats. Good luck!

Wow your stats are almost identical to mine - 28yr old 5'6 start weight 252. Surgery date 4/2. Current weight is 174 - I think you are doing great - be patient though the weight will come off - I was a size 20/22 and now am a size 12 comfortably - so you have come a long way - we both have just keep up the good work. I was a little scared though because I hit another plataeu - I only lost 6 lbs this month and was kinda bumbed out until I realize how grateful I am for all the other weight I have loss. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Tia
