slow weight loss
Wow...I can't believe that July is almost over....Here's my stats, I had my LAP Rny on 4-22-03. I am 31 years old standing a whole 5"4'. My starting weight was 337, my pre-op weight was 317.5. And now I am 277--YIPPE KIYAH!!!!!. I am not exercising as much as I know I should:{ However, I do try to walk 30-45 minutes daily and go swim a few laps at the community pool once a week. I would love to wear any size that I can find at Old Navy, even if it is the largest one. I am currently putting all my clothes (26/28 & 30/32) out on consignment at this new consignment shop that is opening this week. Yeah, except now I hardly have anything to wear and too broke to buy more things. That is the only drawback. Otherwise my biggest struggle is getting in all of my protein. But I am working diligently on that. I haven't been this size since I was 6 months pregnant. So I am tremendously glad about my choice on having wls. Good Luck to all who've crossed over. PAFennell
(1) Open RNY April 15, 2003 (2) 43, 5'3" (3) 319 (4) 248 (5) I swim twice a day for at least 1 1/2 each session and work all body parts...Yard work daily...Exercise bike, treadmill, and row machine on rainy days....Walk 2 miles at the track nightly (6) I haven't given myself a goal weight. I want health and energy levels more than I want body image. Image is very important to mental health and esteem issues we all deal with when we are weight challenged. I really haven't discussed what would be my ideal weight. Any ideas for my body type of being porportioned pretty equally all over???
Hi, thought I'd jump in here. 1) Lap RNY on 4/22/03...2) 52 & 5' 0"....3) beginning weight 249...4) current weight 202...5) no exercise plan that is consistant(I know, I know) not enough room for all my excuses...6) personal weight goal...125-130 or where I feel great. I have to say that I am off all meds now, sleep 200% better, husband of 36 years says I no longer snore. YEA! I still struggle with keeping my food down, some days are better than others. I have trouble seeing the weight loss when I look in the mirror but the clothes are alot different, I did measure in the beginning and have now lost 50 inches! I know soon I'll see the difference. Hugs; Barbara

1) I had open rny on 4/11/03....2) I'm 32 years old, and I am 5'9" tall....3) I was 292 lbs. the day of surgery....4) I currently weigh 236 lbs.....5) I TRY to ride my stationary bike daily, and sometimes use hand weights. So in other words, not too much exercise here, lol.....6) My goal weight is anywhere between 185-195 lbs.
It's so wonderful to see our progress! 1) I had Open RNY on 4/23/03, 2) I'm 30 years old and am 5'2" tall, 3) My beginning weight was 240 on my home scale (which is 8 lbs less than my physician's scale...), 4) I now weigh 190, 5) I exercise at least 3 times a week by walking at a fast pace on an inclined treadmill for 30 minutes plus 10-15 minutes with free weights or resistance training machines, 6) and my personal weight goal is 160 lbs. I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrom (PCOS) and can honestly say 90% of my symptoms have disappeared following my gastric bypass. My adult onset acne is gone, my cycles have returned to normal, etc. I've also lowered my cholesterol from 222 down to 184. I'm on cloud nine and feel this surgery is the best thing I could have ever done for myself. I'm so proud of everyone on this website - we are doing wonderfully! Staci
I had open silastic ring gastroplasty on April 8 2003. I am 34 and 5'3". My beginning weight was 347lbs (not scared to be honest about it now). Current weight 259lbs (yeeeee). I joined Curves in May, but haven't gone in a couple of weeks because I've been so sick. I need to get started back. My true weight goal is around 135lbs. I told Dr Cribbins 165 or so. I know I can reach my goal now with the success I have had so far. Good luck to us all. Donna
This is really exciting for me ....I love hearing what others have lost. I am 33 years old and am 5'9. I had an open RNY on April 28th. My pre-surgery weight was 307 and I am currently 245. My exercise plans consists of playing basketball with my family. We play about four games twice a week. I am seriously thinking of purchasing an exercise bike so that I can increase my exercise. My goal weight is 145 lbs.
