Although I have discussed this with my Dr., I was curious if any other ladies were in the same situation.......I had my "friend" for the surgery, and 14 weeks later it STILL has yet to return!! Not that this is a bad thing LOL. He said it was very common with rapid weight loss and eventually it will arrive. Anyone else have a similar experience???? Thanks!!

I had my "friend" before my surgery on 4/24/03 and didn\t get it again until May 30. Threre was like a 6 week lapse. It WILL come back, unfortunately! LOL

It will come back dont fret over that. Mine was late after surgery. You may want to take a pregnancy test though if there is a chance you may be.. I know quite a few people who have gotten pregnant shortly after surgery.

I was always completely regular - every 24 days and I was on mine too for surgery. I didn't get another one for 6 weeks and then it was a short 3 days and very heavy. My next came 3 weeks later and was very light but lasted 9 or 10 days. My doc says its normal too because of the hormones stored in the fat cells.

My friends have been coming more often since the surgery. Sometimes 2x in less than 5 weeks. I think our bodies just need time to adapt to the dramatic change. Everything should get regulated soon.

I hadn't had a period for over a year, and it started the day I came home from the surgery. Then four weeks later I had another one. But haven't had one since. Weird!

Hey there Tara! My "friend" visited me on April 26th.....just 4 days prior to my surgery day, and I HONESTLY don't have an explanation for this, but here it is Aug. 3rd and I am STILL dealing with my "friend". I just don't know. I guess it's a hormone-type thing all the way around, but I can't wait until she leaves. Anyhow, my PCP had me get a sonogram a while back to confirm that it was or wasn't possible endometriosis, but thank God it's not. In MY situation, it may be just a combination of going thru major surgery, the eating changes, rapid weight loss, PLUS the fact that I take a birth control shot every 3 months. I go in again for that shot in about a week, and my PCP said we'd check further into it if things don't change at that point. If you get a chance, please pass this info along to your physician and, if you don't mind, please let me know what he thinks..........as far as this also being considered to be "normal". Thanks for listening, Tess
