Hi everyone. I live in Bermuda and I had surgery on the 28th April 2003 in Atlanta Georgia. I weighted 298lbs and as of today 20 June, I have only lost 35lbs. Does this seem slow to anyone else? In eight more days I will be two months out of surgery with a possible loss of aprox 40lbs. An I expecting too much too soon. Diets have failed me in the past and I am afraid of this failing as well, but it's done now and I will just have to continue on. I have even started an exercise class four times a week.

I too had surgery on April 28th..as of yesterday I was down 38lbs. so I guess we are on the same track.......I think If we start an exercise program, we will accelerate the weight loss. The program was a move in the right direction. I can also relate to how you feel about this not working, but rest assured it is working. Good luck to you!!! Brenda

Hi Karen, my name is Bee. I had my surgery on 4/22 and am down 39 lbs. I think everyone is different in how they loose. As long as it is coming off I am thrilled. I think you are doing just fine.

Hi Karen, I know how you feel about the fear that the surgery wont work. I had mine April 23rd, 2003 and I have lost 36 pounds at this point. Part of my problem is that I can eat ANYTHING with no problem, although in much smaller amounts. This makes me always wonder if what I'm eating is gonna cause me to stop loosing weight. Sometimes I wish I DID have a problem tolerating something. On the plus side, I have dropped six or more inches off my waste and 3 shirt sizes, which is great. I know when I exercise more it will really start coming off, I just sometimes need to remind myself of that. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this though. Good luck! Darrell

Hi Karen, I lived in BDA for 3 years in the 80's and it's dear to my heart. Don't be discouraged. I'm losing at about the same rate and it IS discouraging I know when you see and hear others that have lost 50 and 60 pounds in the same amount of time. I had my surgery on the 22nd of April and I'm down 40 pounds and I keep hitting plateau's. Like in June I had stayed the same exact weight for 2 weeks, then I lost 4 and 1/5 pounds in three days. Same thing happened this month. Lost another 5 and now the scale has not moved in two weeks again!!!! I guess we just need to stay the course and we'll do it. Make sure you are drinking your water. Take care, and God Bless. Nancy
