I'm 2 months out, 40 pds down yahooooo! I'm eating about six times a day, small meals, have to watch the nibbling and snacking!!! I find that I still can't eat alot of different food, no bread - makes me sick! No meat other than chicken/tuna, and I eat the same stuff all the time?!? Is this normal what I'm saying or is it just me???? What are you eating, anybody, who is two months out???? I'd love to know! -Lee Mott, Canada

Hi Lee - I'll be 2mo post op on 6/29. I have found the following foods to be very satisfying and easy to chew and digest: Hillshire Farms deli select 98% fat free cold cuts (turkey, pastrami, ham) Shrimp Just a couple things for variety.

Hi Lee. Well I am 2 months post op (surgery on 4/21/03) as well and as you I also have a hard time eating meat. I love tuna, shrimp ****tails, the juice of the cup o noodles soup, tortilla soup without the tortilla chips, Ritz crackers with cheese, the egg rolls and stuffed jalapenos from Jack in the Box (I have to squeeze all the fat out first) and anything that has juice and lemon. I make my tuna with onion, tomato, cucumber, cilantro and lemon and eat it with crackers. I also make crab salad with the same ingredients. Hope this gives you an idea of new foods you can try. - Bertha, California

HI Lee - I am just over 2 months out and down 58 pounds. I can eat lots of different things, too. The easiest is lunch meat, cheese and thin crackers. Lunchables are easy and quick and they make up for about 2 meals for me. I also LOVE turkey wraps with La Tortilla Factory low carb tortillas. They don't feel like regular tortillas...more like a really flat bread. It's the only bread I can stomach, actually. I have really been into cobb salad lately, too. I just get lots of cheese and chicken and ham on it. Since we don't absorb fat, I get it with the real blue cheese dressing! YUM! Hey - now I'm hungry! Good luck!

Hi there! My surgery date was 4/18 - started at 282, now 228 (-54). I find that I can't eat any breads at all. I can however eat crackers and goldfish - maybe 2-5 at a time but I can stomach it. I eat chicken anyway I can think to cook it and with whatever I can cook it with. I also have gotten one of those chix enchalada bowls from taco bell with no rice or tortilla strips. I can eat one of those bowls over the course of 3 days. I eat refried beans, eggs, string cheese, yogurt, peanuts.....and that's about the extent of my menu. I keep hoping it will get better but then again I am kindof glad I don't weigh 282 anymore. I don't know aobut you guys but either I forget to eat or I am so afraid to eat because I don't know how things will react, that I just skip all together. Also the energy level is horrible! I sometimes take 2 hours in the morning to even get out of bed. Good thing I see the Dr. tomorrow right? Well, I hope all goes well with everyone. Talk to you soon! Shelly Dobbin

Hi Lee, I'm glad to read how well you're doing. I know sometimes I feel bored with "my menu". The doctor told me to go ahead & slowly experiment with all types of food. He said he has found from feedback that steak and pork chops were the hardest to digest at this time. ( I had a lap RNY on 4-29-03) I've tried alot of things, including hot dogs-not my favorite....... I do great on lean cuisines for lunch, or cottage cheese w/ tomatoes or fruit. The thing I miss the most is drinking with my meals, it drives me CRAZY! I sure hope that will improve. My breakfaasts are usually cream of wheat, instant breakfast or an egg with toast. I've bought some sugar free syrup and I might try waffles or pancakes this weekend. I'm not losing like the rest of you guys, 36lbs @ 7weeks- but I'm happy none the less! Good Luck Loralee Blanchet

Hello Lee. I had my surgery on April 1 and as of tdy 6/21/03 I have lost 50lbs. I'm at the stage where I can't really find anything good to eat. My appetite has changed so much. I don't really like anything anymore. Sometimes I'll get a strong craving for something and then when I eat I don't want it anymore. Are you going through this too? Good thing however is I don't get sick that much anymore. At one point I would throw up after every meal but now I'm fine. I pretty much know what I can and can not eat and the types of food that work well. The first month was the hardest but now I'm feeling good, I see the weight loss and I get compliments daily.

Well Lee, I was begining to worry that I wasn't doing too terribly well... i don't have a "full" sensation anymore, so it's been difficult to rate when i'm done and when i'm not... usually it takes me taking a tiny sip of a liquid during my meals to see if it goes down... if not then it's obvious i have no more room... LOL kinda sucks, i'm sure i'm stretching the dang pouch out or something! I have to be really careful how much i eat, however i can eat practically anything i want besides bread and rice... oh and Triskets... those suck for me... but in anycase, i'm worrying that I'm eating too much, but i'm not too worried about WHAT it is, although i reeeeeeeeeeeally miss bread! Seeya! Ember.
