Topic: RE: 5 yrs later doing GR...
I am offically 5 yrs post op and in that time period, i've gotten married and had 2 beautiful kids. In the process I believe that I've gained about 35lbs or so but i know I've went from a size 10 to a 14/16. That was a little depressing but I'm trying to deal. How are you doing maintenance wise?
Topic: 41/2 years out!!!!
I have lost a total of 110 lbs. I had a baby 18 months ago gained a total of 22lbs w/ her pregnancy. I am a little worried, because i have gained about 15 lbs since her birth. Lowest weight after WLS was 179. My weight today is 195. Any suggestions on how to loose that baby fat! Any opinions helpful.

Shontrice, My name is Christina Frank, I am also 3 yrs post-op ( 4-01-02) I lost a total of 100 lbs got down to 157 and since have gained13 lbs back, it is a little scary, but with getting back to the basics of your wls and a little exercise, you should be able to at least control any more gain.
I have lost 3 lbs since going back, hope to lose the rest. I exercise 6 days a week, (I have a job that allows me that) and have cut the sugar out once again. Sugar is a bad bad thing (for me anyway). Well, hope you are doing well and don't lose hope!!!

Topic: 3yrs Post Operative
Hello,
I want to first congratulate everyone on their anniversity. I am 3yrs post operative and had lost a total of 230 lbs. My lowest wght was 177lbs at my 19th month of weight loss. I am now 188lbs. I seem to have gained over the past 8mths and am becoming worried. I will make an appt to see my doctor and am in search for a support person. I have been reluctant to go to the doctor. Thinking that I know what he will say. Start exercising and get your proteins in. It seems to have become harder to get the exercise in. I know its just a matter of getting started. See I have all the answers to everything. That's probably why I am gaining wght.
Any way I am very pleased when I look at myself but I fear the weight gain.
Love ya
Shon

Dear Dana:
My name is Cathy Stevens, I understand your concern and nightmares about gaining the weight I just had my three year anniversary and I still get on the scale to make sure that I am not gaining any weight back. I lost 135 pounds went from a size 28 to a size two. My best advice to you is find a good plastic surgeon. One that can do it all. My doctor did a lower body lift on me that I still don't believe. But find a surgeon that can do a lower body lift, this is very important. It is much more than a tummy tuck. My surgeon did a complete facial reconstruction, lower body lift, breast lift with implants and under arm skin removal. He is fantasic and I swear by him. I am 49 years old, prior to surgery I looked 70 and I now look like I am in my late 30's early forty's. I wear a bikini and my self image has improved 100 fold since my plastic surgery. What the gastric bypass doctors don't tell you is that you will lose the weight but your body image in your minds eye will not change and in most cases gets worse because of all the skin. People say you don't look well, some people thought I was dying. But after I had my plastic surgery everything change for me I got my self image back. Now there is no way I am ever going back to being fat. If you have any questions you can always e-mail me at [email protected]. By the way my doctor was Dr. Jason Pozner of Boca Raton, Florida.

Topic: Three years!
I'm so thrilled to see so many other successful WLS patients here. May God continue to bless you.
I am now a size 3, and living healthy. My only regret has been seeing my marriage fall apart during this time. It's the same old story- hubby became insecure and ultra controlling.
Topic: Please Help!
I have been wanting to have the lap-band surgery for a long time now and have researched the different proceedures for at least a year now. I have also checked into my insurance paying for the surgery and they say they will. My problem that I sincerly hope someone can help me with is this: I live in the state of GA. close to the TN line and I am on disability. That means that I have Medicare and GA Medicaid. I am having trouble finding a surgon that will take this insurance for this type of surgery. Please, if any of you know of a Surgon and a plastic surgon that will accept this type of insurance please let me know as soon as possible! I would really like to get all this started!
Thank you all very much,
Pam
