Hello, I'm in Spokane Washington. I'm scheduled for VSG on 3/17 and starting my pre-op liquid diet tomorrow. I definitely have a lot of emotions about things, but right now I just plan to take it a day at a time.
Hi- where in NC are you? I have two siblings there. Chapel Hill and huntersville.
i would love to be your online buddy! Can I just say good for you, getting it done. I'm so sorry about your husband :( Hopefully your family is supportive. I have my husband basically who is not all on board with it but knows I'm doing it anyway. My family likes fat mommy but understands why. My friends all sort of poo poo the idea like somehow I'm cheating, I just stopped telling people.
It sounds like your grandson is a lucky boy to have you!!
From what I understand it is supposed to help immensely with lowering or even getting people off the meds also with your joint issues you will have less to carry so I'm sure that will feel do much better.
im looking forward to being able to move better and run again. Oh my stats lol- I'm 49 and 5'8 and have sleep apnea and reflux though that's not bad often. I'm just tired of the up n down of my weight mostly up no matter what I do. I am tall so I'd like to be a little skinny but mostly all healthy as I have 2 gran babies now. Twin boy n girl a year this month.
Hope to hear back from you - buddy
Hi.. I am on the mid coast of North Carolina and having the gastric sleeve on March 11th. I too am soooo excited and yes nervous at the same time. I am 65 years old and realize that I will never be one of those skinnies because of age and large bone structure. I am only 5 ft 2 inches so short and fluffy. My reason for doing this at my age is health issues. I am type 2 diabetic controlled by meds, already had a total knee replacement last year and a rotator cuff surgery this past december. My right knee and shoulder are bothering me so I am hoping with this surgery taking weight off my knees will make life easier. Not to mention feeling better and able to walk up stairs without getting winded. I have 7 grandchildren, one that lives with me (10 yrs old) and want to see them into adulthood. My husband of almost 47 years passed away last April so I am on this journey with my family that is around me. I have no other "buddies" to chat with about this journey but would like to find some for support and to help support. So, if you just want to email back and forth, or on here or whatever, I am game. Good luck and God bless.
Hi, Im looking to see if there is anyone in Northern VA that will be having surgery close to me. I'd love to have a support buddy to go thru the journey together. Im super excited and nervous at the same time.
Thanks-Loris
