Well Monday is the changing day in my life and i hope to never look back at the person i once was and only look back as a reminder of the person i never want to be again. Even though she is a tough, funny, and loving person. She is her own worst enemy. After months of classes and re-evaluating my lifestyle, i have come to terms with myself. I am making this transition for myself and will work hard to become the person on the outside, that i am on the inside. I am ready to break out of this oversized suit and back into the curvy one i traded it for some years ago. I wish those who are apprehensive about surgery to do your homework, and mentally prepare for this change. It will be a long hard road, but at the finish line you will have conquered a feat that not even a gold medal could do you justice. Think positive. if you need help and guidance, it is not too far away. If you can give guidance, that just makes you even more stronger. Learn to love yourself and others should soon follow!
Mine is March 12th. I am nervous and anxious. It's on my mind a lot but not terribly nervous just yet. Congrats on your anniversary, too. I received my surgery date on my birthday. What a gift! Prayers going up for everyone!
Like everyone else, I'm a little nervous yet anxious. I'm currently two days into the liver shrink diet and am doing well with that. I'm wondering if this is what the postsurgical diet will be like, as well. So far, it's bearable and I haven't experienced any real cravings. I'm sure they'll hit eventually, especially over the weekend when it's traditionally our days for eating out.
Being new to the boards, I'm like a sponge soaking up all the personal experiences and information. Thank you all for being so open and sharing all aspects of your experiences. I'm looking forward to having my own "war story" to add soon!
Newmi, I am new here. Prayers to all of us. I go in at 11:30 on March 4th as well for an RNY. Getting awfully nervous... but excited for the rest of my life to start.
Hi Everyone!
I changed surgeons and went to someone in Montreal, I had my surgery Feb 18th. Good luck to everyone who is having it on the 5th. Keep walking is the best advice!
Good luck!!!! I'll be right there with you having my revision done that morning! My thoughts will be with you!
Thanks! Back at ya! I can't wait to feel better. No more joint pain, no more heartburn!! Losing the weight is a great bonus. But like you, I can't wait to be fit again and have energy and my health back.
I am fortunate that I don't have any elderly loved ones to care for in my home at this time. I do however, have a rambunctious four year old. My DH is on vacation from work for the first week then my fifteen year old daughter will be on spring break a week later. I have my wonderful sister in law five minutes down the road and several dear friends who have volunteered to do anything they can for me. I am not worried, really just excited to get it done and get on to the recovery side. Wishing you all luck and speedy recoveries :)
