I'm so glad that the doc says we can break it up a bit with some broth, because the are rather cloying. I'm especially grateful for the dill pickles.
Truly I'm not complaining. I'm thrilled to be this close to my date. Someday these two weeks will seem like a blur.

My surgery date is on the 22nd as well. I am having the RNY. I am feeling the same emotions as you. The first 4 days of my liquid diet I was having diahrrea as well. I started my liquids on the 8th. So I am on day 8 and things are getting better.
Congrats on the 11 pound weight loss. That's great!!

I am 8 days in and have been having chicken/beef broth, sugar free jello/pudding, crystal lite and protein shakes and lots of water.
The plus to finding this now is that if you can take iron and raise the levels, you'll go into this surgery so much stronger. My surgery is now scheduled for next Thursday and it's actually gotten here faster than I realize.
So, unless there's a huge underlying cause for your anemia that can't be fixed with pushing more iron in, you SHOULD be fine.
Just my experience. I'm not a doctor, nurse or any other medical professional. Good luck.

Samantha I am drinking chicken/beef broth, sugar free jello/pudding, crystal lite, protein shakes. I didnt drink much sodas, so the only other thing it could be is from sweets, but I had cut my sweets back alot before the liquid diet.
Thanks for answering me.
The things that I really used out of my case were a soft blanket from home that I used as a pillow and my deodorant. I brought stuff to wash my face, but didn't need it. I also was only in my recovery room for 5 hours, so you may want to take my statements with a grain of salt. I pretty much slept off and on for the first 3 and then I was up the last 2.
I too was very anxious coming up on surgery and had a pretty horrible nightmare when I came out of anesthesia.. like one where I had decided not to have the surgery and I was in pain! My advice, just relax. Your Dr will take care of you, so just get through all the pre-op stuff and make sure you have all your vitamins, etc ready for when you get home.
I don't know if this will happen with you, but I shook a lot coming out of the anesthesia in post-op, so don't be scared like I was. I also got a bit nauseous, but I found that as long as my head was elevated I had no issues.
