I've been doing really good so far! I have lost 26lbs already!!!!!! Even made it through a birthday party with out cheating!!!!! WAHOO!!!!! It was really hard but I am proud of myself! Looking for people who have had surgery around same time to chat with!

I had surgery on 3/15. I still have slight pain - the worst pain was Thursday and Friday. I called the surgeon's office and they added an additional pain med to take alternately with the lortab. I've been able to get in all my protein and water. I've also been able to get in at least 30 minutes on the treadmill. I have found the more I walk the better I feel. I am getting incredibly bored with only liquids and are very much looking forward to puree when I can make my own food with my choice of flavors. One night I actually dreamt that I had pizza. I can't say I've been hungry though - just bored with my food. I hope you are healing well.

Topic: Approval Today..YEAH!!
I received my approval today and I'm waiting to get a surgery date for RNY. My question is about recovery time. I know everyone is different but I'll have only about a week of vacation time to use post op and I hope that's all that I'll need...can't afford to be off any longer. Any thoughts?

I never had the chance to attend a support group but I have my own support system. I’ve only told my immediate family (parents, stepparents, sister and one of my aunts) and three of my friends. I am very lucky to have a wonderful family and friends who are incredible supportive. We are all going out tomorrow night before my two day liquid diet.

I am feeling the same way that you are. I have never been to a support group so I guess you could say this is my support group. I have told my partner of course, 1 friend and my daughters. My 13 year old thinks I am not fat ( I love that about her) and my 25 year old thinks I am crazy to go to Mexico and she is mad.
How about you? Do you have a support group? Have you told many people?
