Hidy everyone! Im looking for some buddies!
I had my RNY on 3/3. I'm 33 single mom of two boys 3 1/2 & 2. I started gaining weight after highschool my freshman 15 was more like "freshman 50" then it just went from there.
I have my 3 week follow up tomorrow after that I will post my weight loss I think it's around 22 lbs. I have been walking my butt off and following all of the rules. I am hoping the dietian will give me the ok to have some veggies tomorrow.
LOL @ your Victoria's Secret comment. soo very very true! I am looking forward to trying some new activities like hiking or biking. For now just working on getting my endurance up and my weight down.
Would love to hear back what your doing for excersize or eating or how your family is dealing with things.
Do you have a facebook? Im on there alot moer than here!
Anyway, Im so far just walking and doing some yoga on the Wii, and some step aerobics on the wii. I can't wait to get released to do some hard exercise. I think I need that to remind me what Im doing this for. Plus I know it will speed up my weight loss. I was calculating last night though and if I lose at the same rate that I have so far for the next 3 months... I'll be down 100lbs! lol I know that probably wont happen but its a goal to work for!!
So far the family is doing great with everything. It was harder at first because my husband was having to do everything for the little babies, and I felt so bad I did more than I should have trying to help him and ended up really sore for a few days. My oldest, he's 5, is hilarious...last night I took one tiny little bite of his macaroni and cheese and he turned his head side ways and said Mommy are you supposed to be eating that? LOL I thought I was going to spit it out I was laughing so hard! How are you doing, I know its got to be harder without help, have you had someone there to help you or at least at the beginning?

I do have fb however I can't access it from work. Only evenings at home. My name is Maggie Schlicht in Wisconsin.
Sounds like you are definately "moving" which is awesome. Don't you find the excercise time is like "me time"? I put the kids to bed and just WALK on the treadmill. I ignore the laundry, cleaning, etc and do if for myself. And it's starting to feel good!
5 year olds do say the craziest things. They know sooo much more than we give them credit for. Glad your hubby is helping with the twins. Are they still in the crib? I transitioned my 2 year old out of the crib into a toddler bed prior to the surgery so I wouldn't have to lift him.
My mom watched my boys for 5 days after my surgery. I couldn't wait to get them back but I was glad I had that recovery time. They go to an in home daycare so while I was recovering they went to daycare while I stayed home. I was off work for 2 weeks. Now I am back fulltime.
I'll watch for you on fb.
I am looking forward to shopping at regular stores instead of online, like you-buying from victorias secret, and going down a waterslide with my beautiful 3 year old son this summer.
Unlike most of the other respondents so far, I might not have as mu*****ommon lifestyle wise (i.e. - male, 40, no kids) but I am interested in how people from around the same surgery date are progressing.
I think I've been lucky so far that I haven't had much in the way of complications, other than an infection in my incision that my doctor considers minor, but that I consider less so. - having to dress it and deal with it every day. But I do wonder how I am faring in relation to where I should be.
