hello..I'm in Texas right now...Hubby is stationed here..i'm from Upper Michigan though..
I'm so nervous ..been trying to keep myself busy all day today between cleaning and making meals for the next week..I'm keeping a bit distracted...(hubby is in the field this week, so he won't be around to help..thank God I have a teen here help me!!)
I have to laugh.. I've "cheated" almost every day on this pre-op diet and have lost about 10 lbs..but for some reason today..the last thing I want is food...weird..must be nerves.
Yes, I agree ..March 10th will be a good day..I've never had surgery before so this should be interesting..
 How are y'all holding up?

I'm up on Wednesday as well for RNY.  I'm not nervous, which makes me nervous (if that makes any sense).  Maybe it will hit me after work tomorrow as I am crashing to get all my projects either finished or ready to hand off to my department.   Hopefully I've trained them well.

My Dr. does not require us to be on any sort of special diet pre-surgery but I've been working protein drinks into my routine over the last few weeks and starting today am sticking to the post surgery diet.  Drinking my first bottle of Isopure grape frost and am liking it.  Like a pretty good Gatorade.

I'm sure we'll all do fine.

I'm starting to freak out ....I'm thinking about backing out..is this normal?
When I get nervous... I eat and eat and eat..and today is the day that I can't eat anything! :(
So I keep telling myself it's just head hunger..it's just head hunger..
I didn't think it was this possible to be this afraid of surgery!

Not sure if it is "normal" but it seems perfectly natural to be nervous.  Not just for the surgery itself but for the major changes it represents.  I don't anticipate anything going wrong tomorrow but I am certainly nervous about the weeks and months that follow.
I work in politics, which is a business that has a very up and down work cycle that culminates in one day every two years and I've done trainings with people on writing campaign plans.  I tell them that the best reason to have a plan in advance is so you can look back on it during the hectic times and "crazy-you" can remember what "sane-you" was thinking.

This is a similar situation.  Our heads are spinning a million different ways right now, but we had presumably well thought out reasons for doing this.  Now is the time to trust our doctors and our decisions.

Good luck wtih today and tomorrow.  Check back in after things are over to let us know how it went.

It is completly normal.  I have heard this more often than you can imagine.   Just remember, you are making the right choice for the right reasons and before you know it, this will all be behind you.

I had my band put in a week ago today and I already am saying it is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!

Well I had my surgery this am..all went well!! I showed up at the hospital at 6:00 am and everything just fell into place..no long waits..wonderful, lovely staff..everyone from the nurses to all the doctor's we're just so sweet.
I was brought into the OR by 7:30 and the next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery at about 10:30. I had taken a little longer because when Dr. Symmonds went in, he noticed I had a hiatal hernia and had to repair it before he could fit the band. After surgery I went to recovery they gave me some pain med..and something to stop me from feeling nautious and boy was I thirsty!!! Couldn't drink anything though until I had my swollow and x-ray...it didn't take long to do all that maybe 20 min. then I was wheeled to a different recovery room where I was given my water (thank goodness!) Then I got to see my hubby ...yay!! :) I was released by 1 in the afternoon...The only problem I'm having now..is the normal shoulder pain from the gas.. and a little discomfort around my incisions..
I hope everyone elses surgery has been a breeze!!
Please let me know how everyone turned out!!
March 10th has indeed been a good day!! :)
