My date is the 31st, I started my pre-op ystrdy. 4 oz protein, 4 oz veggies, 4 oz fruit, 8 oz milk and 2 shakes. I can do this-----It was hard watching the tv with a lovely bagel, but it is not for ever, I will be able to eat most things in moderation something i am unable to do today. My main goal is going to be not hungery and not nausaus with hunger!

My surgeon doesn't require a postop diet. Just liquids after lunch on the day before surgery.

But, I want to try to shrink my liver a little and lose about 5 pounds, so I'm going to do a semi-liquid diet (Slim Fast from tomorrow until date of surgery with a light real meal for dinner).

I have my H&P on Monday and then surgery the Monday after!! Eeekk!!

i must be the lucky one my surgery is 25th but the doc never put me on a liquid diet... I was required to loose 10 pounds are he would not do the surgery I lost 23

I just check my instruction packet for a Liquid diet and nope nothing like it... I read the instructions again... No food after midnight.... that works for me

Topic: March 23rd!!!

Hello everyone!!! I just got my insurance approval from Aetna about four hours ago. My surgery is for Monday the 23rd. I cannot wait....am just too excited.

Now I am trying to figure out what I need to have in the house for those first few weeks. Any advise is appreciated.

I mean to say you and I had surgery on the same date and I'm having trouble with my liquids too. I'm trying, but it's hard. How are you doing on your protien? I'm really trying to get it all in. Most days I do really well but yesterday and today, I forgot to do my shake. Bad patient, I know.
