I had to do 3 protein shakes per day and 1 small meal (like a lean cuisine or weigh****chers frozen meal) per day for two weeks before the surgery. Today (which is the day before) I am on all liquids. I assume that's to get out anything in the stomach or intestines before surgery tomorrow. My doctor did not stress out that I have to do the liquid diet or else, so I did the best that I could. I have lost about 10lbs and I'm sure that came from my liver so I think I'm in good shape. I think that each doctor is different and your weight may also play a factor in it. I am definitely obese, but under 300lbs. I'm sure that my liver is fatty but might not be as fatty as, say someone who is 500lbs. So I think that might have something to do with it, but am just guessing. Good luck with everything and just read a lot of these posts. You'll see that everyone is doing something different so don't worry!

Thanks everyone for your responses! I really have no other health issues other than obesity so that's probably why I didn't get any other meds. At least now I'm not worried that they'll cancel me or something will go wrong! Thanks so much!

I am right there with you ... My surgery date is the 25th and all those emotions are so sharp... My journey is not over it is only began.   My job is being elimnated on May 1st so lets hope I don't have any complications.     Good Luck   See you here next week to compare notes.

thanks for the reply. i am finally too but it seems like only for about 2-3 hours at a time. but thats fine, im getting caught up at least. ive noticed since yesterday though im not eating at well. i have to get used to eating at certain times and drinking at certain times, do u have to take prilosec or something like it before u eat? i do and having problems with that med. luckily theres only one of my pills i have to crush and i dont like that either. its gross,  thanks for the info. this sight really helps. 

BOOST!!!  I bought Boost (chocolate) yesterday in WalMart, put it in the freezer and dang near got the first whole one down!  It was super thick so it sat well, and tasted alright.  I hope I can tolerate this brand cuz I know I haven't been getting enough without these supplements....when I can eat meat, it should improve tho!!
