Topic: RE: March 17 (St. Paddy's Day) was my surgery....anyone else??
I was the 17th as well. My diet currently is yogurt, pudding, soup (strained if it has anything in it) and protein shakes. Can't wait to see doc next week so I can move to soft mushy stuff. Hang in there everyone it will be well worth the wait.

Topic: RE: 8 days out- are you driving?
I've been driving and haven't had much of a problem. Twisting and turning is sore at times but otherwise I've been okay. Go at your own speed though and listen to your body. You'll know when you're ready.

Topic: RE: How many lbs have you lost since surgery?
I had my surgery on the 17th too. Can't help with weight loss because I have yet to get on the scale. I'm waiting until my post op visit which is next Wednesday. However, 14 lbs in a week sounds pretty good to me. If it were me I'd be happy with that.

Good luck,
Frogger

I drove today. I did okay but was very tired when I got back. I only drove to the bank and back. About 3 miles round trip. LOL I have to drive to see my surgeon on Friday and it is 40 miles. I am a little nervous that I will be exhausted by the time I get there.

I drove yesterday. I was sore afterwards, but it has not affected my driving. Just take it easy and do it when you are ready.

I'm 8 days out and I'm still slighty stiff and sore. Not taking any pain meds. I can do most house things and take care of the kids, but I'm just slow. I just tried to drive and was not ready. How are the other 8 days out-ers feeling?

Topic: RE: Experienced Lapers Blended/PUREED FOODS ... Good Suggestions
I am only 2 weeks of being on pureed, no expert but getting there LOL.

SOme of my favorites are:   poached or scrambled eggs (.i dont puree them but chew almost to a liquid),  cottage cheese (again, just chew chew chew),  applesauce, yogurt, wendy's chili (whizzed in the mini chopper), turkey meatballs (whizzed in the mini chopper with fat free gravy), and ricotta cheese with marinara sauce (nukked in the microwave)

i have been able to tolerate a few baby food meats too.

Topic: Back to the gym after too many years
After way too many years of letting my gym membership waste away, going for a while then stopping, letting my money go to waste...............

TADA i finally renewed my membership for 2 whole years.  (they were even nice enough to not charge me a re-initiation fee).  Having been given the tool of RNY, now i want to start out doing it all correctly.  At this stage, I am limited to walking on the treadmill and riding the bikes  but hey, its a start.  Yesterday was my first day and although i didnt get too far, it was better than i thought.  Today was even better.  Considering i havent exercised in..ummm too long to remember, i am proud of myself.  One small baby step at a time!!
