Hi there.  I know you said you were tired of cottage cheese, but I found out that if you subsitute cottage cheese for the mayo in egg salad, you end up with a really good end result.  you can't tell that there's not mayo in it and it's packed with protein!  Give it a try...I promise, if you like egg salad, you'll like this recipe!  Add all of your normal spices and stuff...

Well today was my first horrible experience since surgery. I am having a hard time breaking the habit of drinking fluids with my meal. (By fluids I mean water, or unsweetened tea) Anyway, this morning I was eating breakfast and drinking along with it. Well within 30 minutes my heart started racing, I got really hot and nauseous and then it all came up. I began vomitting so badly it was HORRIBLE. So lesson learned, no more drinking with any meals. Be careful!

I am hungry!!!  My doctor allows non-starchy vegetables...I'm sick of nothing but protein shakes, cabbage, green beans, and broccoli.  I've lost 21.2 lbs since last Monday.  I am a little more irritable than usual, but not so much as I expected.  I haven't packed my bag...not really planning on taking much.  Family is supportive.  I am slightly nervous.  Just ready to get it over with and start seeing more big losses!

Going back to work after having RNY on March 10th!  The DR cleared me yesterday.  I am a little nervous, but anxious to get it over with.  Wish me luck!  I

Topic: RE: How many lbs have you lost since surgery?
I had my surgery on March 2.

From my pre-op appointment until my first post-op visit, I was down 19 pounds, officially.

I weighed myself on a set of scales at the mall the other day, and, taking into account shoes, clothing, etc., I am down another 11 pounds.

That makes a total of 30 pounds lost since surgery, overall.

I had my surgery on the 11th, and I'm down 21 lbs since, if you don't count the 25 lbs of fluids they packed on me during surgery hehe.

I am sooo jealous Dawn!  But then I'm alot older than you and this ole body takes its time doing anything LOL  My surgery was on the 16th and It took me 5 days to just get rid of the iv fluids...but since Friday I'm down 6 bls. Think it had something to do mowing the lawn yesterday.;-)  Someone at my support group told me that while on Stage 1,2 and 3, is when we can expect the fastest weight loss...so I'd say as long as you are getting in your vitamins, modified liquids and required fluids, you're doing great! How are you feeling?  If no problems, don't look a gift horse in the mouth LOL  So happy to hear your surgery has been so successful!

Topic: RE: 8 days out- are you driving?
I'm 9 days out and while I could start driving, I have chosen not to. My doc said as soon as I was off the pain meds, I could drive but to take it slow, going short distances at first.  I'm like you, still sore and tender to the touch around the 'holes'...so I'm not comfortable driving..if someone was to hit me from behind or anywhere actually, being forced into the steering wheel would be extremely painful.  I've decided to wait another week; fortunately, I have a wonderful husband who has not any problem driving us where ever we need to go. ^_^

I am 2 weeks out as of today.  my pain from surgery is gone!  I was only on liquid for a week and then mushy.  Today I was able to start on fish.  It seems that everyones dr.'s have wide variety of restrictions.  My doc says 80 grams protein a day.  I can't get it in.  The supplements other than slimfast.  I am tracking what i eat on www.livestrong.com.  I think this will be very helpful.

I have only lost 10 pounds and i have sooooooooooo much gas still.  i think this is par for the course.  I have had some remorse as well.  Like "what did I do"  Im still very tired and lathargic.
i have to go back to work next week.  I don't think im ready!
