Well, it's about 10:30 pm on Sunday night and I'll getting ready to take my anti-bacteria shower and get my bag packed.  Is anyone else out there as nervous as I am?

Ohhhhh boy I'm right there with you! I had surgery on the 2nd and I lost 20lbs within the week or so after surgery and then nothing. I mean nothing for almost 3 weeks. I just lost 2lbs, oh but I gained that a week ago. Lol
I'm telling you I was so frustrated and disgusted. I am almost 4 weeks out and only a loss of 21lbs. While everyone else seems to be losing so much more. I'm sticking to my program and following my nutritionists plans and yet nothing. Makes you think you're a failure. Everyone is very reassuring and I TRULY appreciate it. Yet in my head I can't stop thinking I suck at this!! So believe me I totally understand.

Well, at least I'm not alone in this.  Its hard to not get discouraged and think..... "maybe I'll be the one that it doesn't work"......  but...it sounds like its not too uncommon... Lets just hope it turns around soon

I don't have any words of wisdom for you, but just wanted to say I hear you.  I'm right there with you.  I'm 23 days post op and I've lost all of 10lbs.  I lost those in the first week and have gained and lost the same 2lbs every since.  It's SO frustrating to be at a stand still already.

Praying that our bodies get adjusted and start losing again soon!

I'm only 5 days out and can only offer you advice from my years of dieting back and forth. 30lbs in three weeks is really huge! Your body might be in shock from the quick weight loss and is trying to hold on to everything it has. I wouldn't be discouraged at all. I've read so many posts on here where people say the same thing and they are surprised that they plateau so quickly. I think it's kinda a normal thing and then it starts coming off again. It's easy for me to say this now, but I'm sure in a few weeks when it happens to me, I'll be on here too, so keep you chin up and know that there's no way it will last. You might even step on the scale one day and have a huuuuuge loss! Good luck

Topic: 5 Days Out!!!
Hello everyone!

Had my surgery on 3/24 and it went great. My nurse told me that I was the best gastric patient she has ever had. My pain never went above a 2 and I didn't require morphine. I was up and walking by the first day and have kept it up. I feel great and can't believe that an 8oz shake actually fills me up! I weighed in before surgery and had lost 7lbs from the pre surgery diet. I just weighed myself and lost 9 more! It's working fabulously already! I know that a big part of it is that I am getting up and moving as much as possible. It's helped with the pain and with losing the weight.

All those that have had surgery this month...how are things going? How long are you on the liquid diet, and can anyone tell me what the next step is? Is it pureed foods? I have to see my surgeon in 2 weeks and then I guess I'll find out. But I'd like to know what I'm in for! Can anyone tell me what it felt like to actually have food in their stomachs? It's making me a little nervous since liquids fill me up just nicely right now! Haha! Thanks in advance

I'm trying to not get too discouraged but...... I'm 17 days post op and I haven't lost any weight in the last 10 days!  I can't believe it...... I have been on a liquid diet for over 4 weeks.... I lost about 30 pounds in the first 3 weeks but nothing since.  I am taking my vitamins and usually getting enough protein.  I try for 3 drinks a day... approx 85 grams......I also walk on the treadmill or do the elliptical at least 30 minutes a day during my lunch break....
How can I be plateauing already?  I mean seriously?

Glad you are doing so well, I wish I could've said the same things after my surgery!  ;)  Hope your recovery continues to go well!

Wow, you all are doing awesome. I had my surgery on the 2nd and I'm only down 22lbs. I did lose 20 before surgery, so I'm down a total of 42. I wish I lost more since surgery though.
