Bob, that is awesome on the weight loss. I am 35.4 pounds down since surgery and 44 down since my consult. You are doing fabulous.
I am still having trouble finding a protien that I can tolerate and afford.
I have tried proti diet and it seems to stay down okay, but it is expensive.
I go back to the dr on 4/28 for my 2 months post op. I am still on soft foods. I can't really have anything else until 4 months out. I am really sick of eggs and refried beans.

I'm with you. It bothers me when I have to stop drinking before & after eating as required to prevent pouch stretching.

Hi Bob! Don't know if you got my earlier emails .. I'm a little new to forums and don't quite know about "add-a-friend" etc. Anyway, my "sleeve" was done on March 3rd... 1st night was a little rough in ICU and a couple of issues with my chest "pain pump" when I got home but nothing major. Doing GREAT now .. AMAZED at how little food I can eat! 3-4 ounces of anything and that's it! Stamina improving daily - about back to a "8" on a 1-10 scale ... Was 417 at my highest weight; 391 at surgery and  was 359 this AM! Losing about 4 lbs week steadt last 3-34 weeks.

NEVER HUNGRY! Almost have to remember to eat. That's one main advantage of the "sleeve ... the part of the stomach they remove (80%) contains the "hunger nerves" plus none of the problems with 'dumping' or "absorbtive" issues - (no -rerouting of small intestines at all with the 'sleeve' or VSG surgery).

Anyway, don't know if you got my earlier emails - glad to see you're doing OK .. would like to hear from you.

I'm doing ok, had pulled on that left side incision about a half a week ago and so it was hurting pretty bad, but made myself take it easy for several days and now it's just sore, getting a lot better.  I haven't had any problem with any of the foods that I've eaten, but I haven't eaten a whole lot either.  I am still off work (I'm an RN at a Psychiatric hospital so my job is pretty physical), but return in one week, next Saturday, so I'm really hoping I'm at 100% by then!

Almost 3 weeks out, I still feel low on energy and experianced my first problem with food getting stuck. (Not fun.) I'm not in much pain, twinges here and there when I bend down.  How is everyone else doing?

I havent had any surgry yet but im am thinking on it....I had a cousin who did the RNY and she had to get a reversal she got down to 87 LBS then they placed feeding tube. but then her sister had one of the surgrys not the RNY some other one and she had issues with her protein. lost a lot of hair (because the protein issue) she was also very low energy too due to the protein but once she got back to bussiness she did a great job. she looks great. she is now 1yr post op and is pushing 198 lbs

im so scard...im 26 and im 440-460 LBS this is the biggest ive been. I dont want to miss to much work I love my job. looking for answers do u mind if i ask.

Topic: RE: Energy Levels
I had lapband on March 11th. Today was the first day that i have had any energy at all.  I have also had the intestinal flu but my energy was low before that.  Im not getting in any protein shakes.  And if your not supposed to drink for 2 hours after a meal and it takes you 2 hours eat, how the @#$#$ you supposed to get fluids in!  Im not convinced that this was such a good idea.  I feel after i eat or drink anything at all as if I have swallowed razor blades.  Weird thing is it only hurts in my back!
