Topic: One month check up

I had my one month check up. I'm down 30lbs since surgery for a total of 50 since I started. I'm not getting in enough calories. I only consume 600 calories and she wants me up to 1,000. Never gonna happen, I barely make it to 600. She wants me to try some new things, such as some salad and to try bulking up my meals a little. We'll see how that goes!

Topic: RE: 3/17 RNY-how are you doing?
I am doing better. I don't know if you remember a week and a half ago I was complaining of a heavieness on my chest and I was vomiting. Well I had a blockage in my intestine. I had surgery and I am home now for the past week recovering. That was scary since I just had my RNY 9 days before. I hope no one else has to go through that.

I had the same surgery on the same day as you and love reading how good you are doing! I am looking forward to getting a drainage tube they had to put in me out tomorrow and then be able to do more without worrying about it. I have actually had people thinking I was crazy for having been out to kmart, walmart, military store, grocery store, etc. in the 4 full days I have been home. I felt up to it, didn't see any reason to sit at home and be bored with just walking around my road. I love reading of your shopping in San Antonio. I loved that town when we visited there a few years ago. Keep up the great progress!

that's wonderful! I have a gym membership too that I haven't used since my pre-op diet, and then I only did it for a few weeks. I need to get motivated, I'm going to use you for some inspiration.

Congratulations on your loss so far. Isn't it an amazing journey.
Good job on the walking. I walk every day and it has now become a family activity. I feel better than I have in a while.

What kind of questions do you have? I had RNY on 3/2/09. I have done really well so far. I am down 44 pounds and feel really good. B12 injections once a month or a sublingual tablet everyday will help with the energy level. Also, taking a good multivitamin will help. I have had trouble finding a protien I can keep down as well, but I finally DID find one. It is called Proti Diet liquid concentrate. I am doing well with it.
I am still on soft foods and will be for another couple of months. I am willing to answer any questions I can.
Having WLS is a big decision. I researched it for 3 years before I did it.

Shannon, glad you are doing well. 23 pounds is fantastic. don't get too discouraged.  We all lose at a different rate. the heavier you are the faster it will come off.  I haven't lost hardly any this week.  I think 3.4 pounds is all. So I know how you feel.
