OMG! Thank u for your post!! I never heard of the 2-3 weeks Post-Op weightloss stall. I thought something was wrong with me! Whew! I lost 18 lbs, and have not lost anymore weight in the past week. So, I went back to the gym today to see if I could break this plateau. I definitely thought to myself THIS IS WAYYY TO SOON TO STALL. But now that I read that it is more common that I thought, I feel so much better.

Good luck to all of you...

Yeah, I knew even before surgery that many people have their first stall at two or three weeks post-op, but even knowing that before surgery doesn't make it a whole lot easier when you're going through it.  I've done the whole reminding myself that if I lose just the average of what they say people will lose...20 pounds the first month and 10 pounds a month thereafter that I would be down 130 pounds in one year, but you know that irrational part of your brain that plays those tricks like you're doing something wrong, or you're not going to lose the weight, or whatever else our diet worn bodies tell us, lol.  I know that if I just hang in there the weight is going to start coming off again, it has no choice, but I just don't want to wait another week or so for it to happen, lol.  ;)

Topic: RE: 3/17 RNY-how are you doing?

Hi 3/17ers!!!!....  We are 3 weeks, 2 days out...can you believe it?  Almost one month!!!!

Up until the day before yesterday the area just to the left of my belly button was so painful---ripping, tearing, burning....horrible!!! I could barely get up/down...ouch!  I was taking my pain meds and, still, horrible, BUT the day before yesterday was a complete turn-around.....I felt so much better & now I don't feel that pain at all. There is a tee-tiny bit of soreness in that area, but it's really nothing.  I had a burst of energy the past two days & got a ton done around the house & yard, but, today, slowed down a bit.  I did manage to take a bike ride w/my 6 year old, so that was fun.

My weight had stalled the past three days, but today I lost a pound, so that was a relief. I guess I was getting spoiled seeing the scale go down so much right after the surgery....I seem, lately, to stay the same for 2-3 days & then drop a pound.  I did a two day pre-op diet (including that I am down 31.2 pounds), but, since the day of surgery, I am down 28....I am fine w/that. I am just focusing on staying w/the program. I am getting all my protein in & my water....today will be one of the first days I have been able to get all my supplements in....that seems to be the hardest since we can't take the multivitamin & the calcium w/in two hours of each other & we need the multi 2x/day & the calcium 3xs/day....it takes some figuring out to get it all in!

Congrats to everyone on their great success!!!! We are going to have a great summer!!! Get ready for those bikinis, ladies...;)!!!!! xo, Micheala.

Me too! I am 2 weeks out. I haven't lost any since the 4th day post op. I went to see my doc today and he reminded me that the first 30 was water. He said fat comes off much slower and to expect an average of 2-3 pounds per week. If I look at it that way then by the end of the summer I will have lost about 80 pounds. That's something to look forward to.

Same here. Down 22 lbs in the first 3 weeks and nothing this week. I'm okay with it though. I still feel so low energy that I'm more focused on feeling better than the weight loss. I hope I can start feeling more energized soon. Everyone says 4-6 weeks, so I'm hopeful that one day next week I will wake up and not feel like going back to sleep.

OMG, you read my mind!!!  I was wondering what was going on with me.  I lost like 27 lbs the first 3 weeks, and then nothing!!  I thought i was eating too much, but I dont know what is happening.  i thought it was too early to plateu, so ???  I noticed the scale even went up a few lbs one day and the next it was back down a couple lbs.  what is going on???  I hope i get back on the losing track real soon!!!

I had surgery March 17.  Lost about 10 lbs pre-op and 17.5 since surgery.  I am 3 weeks and 2 days out and i am also at a stall.  I'm trying not to think about it too much and need to exercise more but I just haven't had the energy.  Let's keep in touch.  HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOURS!
