Hey Robin, it will get better soon, I promise! The depression for me was horrible. I cried over everything! Nauseousness for me comes and goes. Some days I don't want to eat at all. Hang in there, you'll feel better soon! Hugs....

Topic: RE: MARCH 30TH!!
I have my 2 week check up today at 4:00pm.  I am sure I will be able to eat more but I can't get rid of the sick feeling even when I just take a drink so I am so/so about eating new foods right now.  What shake do you drink for your protein?  I was drinking slim fast low carb ut it doesn't taste so great and you have to drink quite a bit.

Let me know how the doctor visit goes.

Topic: RE: So how many here have had the two to three week stall??
Thanks so much for your post.  I had surgery 3/18 and haven't lost a pound in 2 weeks.  I dropped 17lbs right after surgery and hit a stall.  I was sooooooo frustrated.  I did read a couple of old post about a 3-week stall, but still thought it was something I was doing wrong.  I called my NUT 3 times and she never called me back.  I was even thinking of finding a new one...LOL  So glad I'm not the only one.  Not glad that you had the stall....but glad it is not anything I'm doing wrong.  So, So happy that I found this forum today!!!

Topic: RE: Cant sleep lying down yet????
I'm almost a month out, and I'm finally able to sleep on my stomach...the 1st  weeksI slept on the sofa or in bed surronded my many, many pillows.  I used a small pillow to support my stomach when sleeping, geting in/out of bed.  Gradually I started sleeping on my right side (left side was more sensitive) and now I'm able to sleep on my stomach.

Topic: RE: Medications
My Dr. prescribed me something for nausa when I left the hospital....You can take a dose of that first (if you have some, if not ask your Dr. to prescribe it) then after about 30 minutes take your meds.  After I crush mine, I always take them with sugar free pudding or applesauce.  Thats the only way they will go done.  Just drop one crushed pill at a time on a spoon with applesauce....you shouldn't taste them.  Hope this helps

Topic: Medications

I had surgery 3/23, and have persistently had issues taking my medications.  Pre-surgery I was on my anti-depressants, thyroid, cholesterol, and allergy meds.  Post-surgery, I am still on my anti-depressants, cholesterol, and thyroid meds.  However, even after chopping them up into little pieces, I still get nauseated after I swallow them with water.  It takes me nearly two to three hours to take my meds in the morning and evening, and about an hour and a half to take my mid-day meds.  I can't get them in different forms (ie, liquid) because of their status in the pharmacological world.  Does anyone else have this problem?  If so, any ideas how to get past this nausea?

I had RNY on 3/25 and slept in the recliner the first 2 nights but have been sleeping in my bed ever since. The recliner is where I started my weight gain and one of my goals was to change that. So I was very determined to get out of that recliner ASAP. No more sitting up late night in the recliner, watching TV and chowing down.
