Topic: RE: Anyone else freaking out due to lack of issues??
I have only had constipation issues.  Otherwise I am doing fine.  I head back to work on Monday May 4th.
The only thing I noticed and kind of wondered about is I can eat a half cup on cottage cheese in a sitting (20 - 30 min).  That is 4 ounces.  Isn't that quite a bit being just over 4 weeks out?
I have not been sick yet since surgery.   I am trying to stay within my program since I don't care to get sick.

I think you're doing great! I have a friend whose had RNY a year ago and she's never had a problem with any foods either. I think that's awesome!

I guess I am in real trouble I have no food that I have tried that makes me sick.  I am very concerned because eating feels normal   I am not overeating.  I log everything and my calories are between 699 to 800   on a bad day maybe 900.  I have stalled 2 and it takes about 2 weeks between to make a difference

B: 1 slice Lite toast. 1-2 tsp lite margarine
     2 scrambled eggs, with spray

L:  1-2 oz imitation crab or turkey or tuna   (mixed 1/2 tbsp with reg mayo)  I don't like the lite)
      1 oz turkey
5 Marinated Mushrooms or 1/4 c green Bean Salad (I usually have to keep half of that for
       dinner)
2 chucks of melon or grapes

S:   2 oz, Fish, crab, shrimp some other meat,
       1/4 canned vegtables

or   1 slice Lite toast with tomato sauce on it
with some small peppers & Onions
               1-2 oz Low Fat Cheese

Snack.,   SF Jello or Pudding
                Saltines

Topic: 7-weeks post-op exam ("Sleeve")
I had the vertical sleeve done on March 3rd, 2009.
I'm still feeling better by the day - in fact I find I have more stamina NOW than pre-surgery! My 7-week post-op exam & extensive lab work last week went very well except I'm pretty low on Magnesium & REAL LOW on Vitamin D. My surgeon prescribed  Rx for the D deficiency & an OTC supplement for the magnesium. My Proteins & heart-related labs were excellent! My blood sugars are the lowest they've been in a decade and I'm down to 3 diabetes pills daily (from a high of 7 pills daily pre-surgery).
Best part is I've lost 55 lbs since surgery; 66 lbs from my highest weight in February (when I started my pre-op diet.) Can't complain!

Any other middle-agers+ had the sleeve? How ar you doing?

Topic: RE: Hi all!
At 4 weeks out I was still eating soft foods. I cannot tolerate coffee anymore although I love it.  Don't push and try to eat solids if you can't. It takes time for your new tummy to adjust. If something doesn't sit well wait at least 2 weeks before you try it again. It does get easier, I promise.

Wow!  You're doing great!  Let me ask-did you have any problems going to solids?  I'm at four weeks now and solids make me nauseous.  Usually they come back shortly after eating.  I can just tolerate soups and jello.  Also, some things taste strange these days.  I used to LOVE coffee and now it just doesn't taste so good.  Any suggestions? ideas?

Thanx!

Since you offered - I'm having a lot of trouble keeping anything other than soup from coming back up.  Just about everything makes me nauseous.  Today is four weeks and I'm still basically on liquids.  How is it for you?  Is this normal at all?

So how do you take your meds after you crushed them all up?  In pudding, yogurt, etc.?  Do you dump all the crushed medicine in at once, or take one at a time?  I'm not quite sure how to do it.

Topic: RE: Had my first "unpleasant" experience..
I had my first bad experience the other night.  Took a bite of steak, like I used to, size, chewing, everything.

It was NOT going down.  Had to run to the bathroom and almost didn't make it.  I wasn't nauseous or anything, it just came right back up.  I had read from someone else on the boards that she cuts her meat into the size of a pencil eraser.  I remember thinking that was crazy.  Not anymore.

It took me 3 meals to get through an 8 oz. steak and I was full each and every time.  That would've been a snack before!
