Topic: Weight Loss

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with this problem.  I had my surgery on 3/17/09 and lost 20 lbs at my 2-wk post op visit on 4/3/09.  Since then, 5 lbs!  It's been an entire month and only 5 lbs.  I know I'm not supposed to compare myself to others, but it is so hard.  I look at profiles and most people are way ahead of me. I started out at 273, so am not a lightweight.  I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. Exericse, water, protein, etc.  I guess I just need a little reasurrance that it's not just me. That others are experiencing or have experienced the same thing.  Thanks for your support.!

The Chicken Caesar wrap kit is really good too!  I am still on soft foods and just had one tonight.  They definately make you fell like you're cheating!!

I am now in the soft foods stage of my diet and I found something today that I really like and can tolerate. South Beach makes a wrap kit. I bought the southwest chicken flavor and ate the meat with the cheese and salsa on top and threw away the tortillas. The chicken was moist, soft and easy to chew. It was so heavenly that it felt like cheating. I figured it up to be about 120 calories and 20g of protein. It also has a small serving cup of sugar free jello.

I have only had one cycle since my surgery.  It was very heavy and I was VERY crampy.  I just can't wait to see what May brings... <--sarcasm

I haven't had regulars cycles for the past 2 years. Which sucked when I was trying to get pregnant. Since my surgery I have had heavy cycles with tons of cramping and every 3 weeks. So I hear ya! Let us know what the doc says.

When I started my pre-op diet, I started my period because of weightloss. It sucked because I was bleeding during surgery and everything. Then, it stopped a week or so later. I started lightly bleeding on the 28th of April and am still lightly spotting. I think our hormones are re-adjusting--I am sure you will regulate with time! Good luck, dahlin'!

I had my surgery on March 31 and like you I have been very much problem free.  In fact I feel better than I have in a very long time.   I am walking a mile every night now and aside from maybe two times that I overate, I haven't had any problems.

So don't worry!!!!  I am sure your doing just fine!!!!

I eat only certain more solid foods (tuna & salmon) but it has to be moist.  I have now tried moist chicken breast and ground hamburger.  They do fine BUT, I have to take VERY small bites and chew, chew, chew.
None of them can be dry or over cooked.  I had the hambuger in a mild chili that I made making sure to drain the hamburger after it was cooked.  I was very happy it did well.
I use a baby spoon eating the chili and tuna.

I wish you the best with your eating.
