Topic: RE: How many calories, "Marchers?"
I'm working hard on keeping my calories up, I have to eat several times a day because I can't do a lot at once. Some days I only get 500 or 600, but most days I can get in 650 to 800 now. I am trying to get to about 800 each day, but it doesn't happen most days yet, but I'm working on it. I am averaging about 70 to 75g of protein a day and most days I get in at least my 64 oz of water, sometimes more. But it's all a lot of work and effort, I could easily go with less.
Topic: RE: Weight Loss
My surgeon told me a healthy weight loss post op is 20 lbs. the first month and 10 lbs for the next 5-6 months and then it'll possibly slow up to 5 lbs. a month. Just remember, it's all the BETTER for your skin!!! That's what I keep telling myself anyhow!!! Good luck and hang in there, atleast we "turtles" aren't gaining!!

Hi "Marchers"!! I am 10 weeks out and have lost 47 since surgery on March 11th. Sometimes I think I am a slow loser and I was stuck for almost 2 weeks but I try to not focus on that. I'm losing and NOT gaining and that's what matters, right? I've went from sz. 24 pants and 3XL shirts to XL shirts and sz. 18 pants. I feel FANTASTIC! I was pretty luck with never any pain and at 3 weeks post, my energy increased. I can tell on days I don't get enough fluid or protein though. I feel really run down on those days. I FINALLY found a 100% whey protein I can handle by bodybuilders.com. I had tried over 13 brands and threw them all up! I wonder how much more weight I would have lost if I had discovered this brand sooner? Oh, well. I feel so much more confident. I love my surgeon for giving me my life back! This is by far not an easy way out, but it's the first REAL PRODUCTIVE means of weight loss I have had to date!! I did "push" it once or twice with a bite of ice cream, and then yup...., my pouchie friend saved me! I won't be doing that any time soon!!
Good luck to us all!!! We are finally on the other side of this thing!!! TGIF every one!!!

Yesterday I had a whopping 400 calories. Lol My average is 500 or so. I've tried to get in more, I just can't do it. My nutritionist wants me up to 800. Not gonna happen.

I did ok with it. It is something that I would eat regularly but I didn't eat the top bun and only a little of the bottom. It needs to been eaten VERY slowly.

Shannon, you will get there!
The main reason we are eating differently is simple. It's because we're all individuals.

The BK sandwich was a one-time thing, and, based on my tummy's response to it, it won't be happening again anytime soon. We were driving to see a brother of mine, and stopped for lunch, but mainly, we stopped for the Star Trek glasses. hehe

What are you consuming on average--calories, protein, etc? Just making sure I am on par with my fellow Journey *Marchers* :)

Once again I find myself jealous of those of you eating "normal" foods lol. I'm still on yogurt, cottage cheese and tuna and chicken salad. I've tried sandwiches, meat, veggies (uncooked or steamed) and some fruit and I can't eat it. I've tried, had bad experiences and will not be attempting it any time soon lol.
I wonder why some of us can tolerate certain foods and some can't?
