Topic: RE: How many calories, "Marchers?"
I am getting anywhere from 800-1000 per day (mostly protein) and still losing...

Great idea! I forgot about that one.

May I suggest rotissery chicken? It's generally moist and absolutly delicious. My personal favorite is from Costco.

I buy the south beach diet wrap kits and eat the chicken out of them. It is really moist and easy to chew. Baked Tilapia is really easy to eat too. I put seasoning on the filet and broil it in the oven. It is really moist and easy to eat too.

I desperately want to try chicken. I see a lot of you are eating it with no problem. So can you advise me how you prepare it? I seem to be so far behind in my eating habits compared to others. (I know I shouldn't compare)
I don't consume any meats and I really want to try something new. Thanks all!

Topic: RE: How about some updates for us March surgeries?
I am 7 weeks out and have lost 51 pounds. I started at a size 22 and am down to a 16. The one thing I have really been struggling with is exercise. I want to and I ususally have every intention of doing it but am still really tired all the time. Some days are better than others and I will be overflowing with energy and somedays(like this whole weekend) has been me ready to fall asleep if I sit still for too long. On the positive side, I have been getting a lot more male attention( I am doing my best to not let it go to my head) and family that hasn't seen me since before my surgery say they hardly recognize me. Food wise, I have been trying to stay proactive. I am a single mom and I try to prepare a weeks worth of food in advance so that I am not making bad decisions for when I should be eating. I was having some trouble with food getting stuck and vomiting but I think I have it under control now. A couple things that have saved my sanity though have been light orange juice( I craved the golly out of oj after my surgery and sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do) Wendy's chili, taco seasoning, balsamic vinegarette, and cheese. I have been in love with the balsamic vinegarette for all things chicken and who doesnt love a little added low fat cheese for flavor and protein? As far as water, water itself upsets my pouch but flavors like crystal light, propel, stuff like that do ok, I just make sure I carry something with me at all times. I know I don't get all my protein in like I should but the bariatric nurse even said that right now she is more concerned about my fluid intake. I hope everyone else is doing well and as far as would I do this again...in a heartbeat. I may have some trials now but I already feel like a new person and I am quickly becoming the person I should have been for a long time...the person that was hiding behind the food and the fat.

I have only had one problem. It was a few nights ago. I got a piece of chicken stuck. I had to make myself vomit to get it up. It was a horrible experience. Other than that, I tolerate everything I eat. I have been bad about snacking and know that is why I haven't lost more than I have. Today has been a good day though. No snacking today. I get in all my fluids, but don't get in all my protein. My hair has been falling out by the handfulls and it frustrates me. I went and got 11 inches cut off of it. I get asked if I would do it again and most definitely I would. I have so much more energy. I am able to ride a bike now and I am doing great. My weight loss has slowed and that is discouraging, but I am still positive and working towards my goal of 120 pounds lost.

Topic: RE: Anyone eating salad?
I am not allowed to have salads until 6 months out. I wish I could have them. I really miss having a salad with grilled chicken on it.

I am doing great so far. I am down to an 18 from a 24! Met wit the nutritionist today and I am down a total of 61lbs! I feel like this is some kind of dream. I just am starting to feel like I have any energy. I am walking and working in my garden, but haven't started back to the gym because I feel so weak. I am trying to eat more foods but still rely heavily on protein shakes. I just started eating salad. I have been eating canned fruit for several weeks and am really enjoying that. I have tried some foods I thought I wanted, like pizza, and have seemed to lost the desire after only one bite. The nut said I could try some cold cuts and even sashimi this week. I have missed my sushi, I hope I haven't loss my desire for that!

I am averaging 800 cals\day with 40% from protein. The nut said that is right were I should be. Last month I was only at 600 and had to go to bed immediatly after work because I was so weak. The 200 cal made a big difference! Still lost 20 lbs this month!
