Topic: I had some rotisserie chicken! Thank you all!

Well I took everyone's advice and tried the rotisserie chicken. I was only able to eat like 4 tiny bites but it satisfied me and made me feel somewhat "normal" again! Lol

Thanks to all!

Topic: RE: 2 month update Marchers... How are you doing?
I am doing well. Down about 30 lbs (slowly but surely). I lost 21 before surgrey, so down 51! I am doing well. I am getting in my protein and water every day. Not really tracking calories, but really trying to eat healthy. Last week, I started a program called "Nuvita" here at work. It's basically an exercise/nutrition program that focusses mainly on exercise. I am working out 5 days a week and feeling really good. I've gone from snug 24's to comfy 18s. 16's here I come!

I am going to Vegas in about 3 weeks. I am actually looking forward to the flight and walking around the town! My energy level has really increased. It's all very exciting!

Topic: RE: Ok all you eating meat...tell me how you prepare it?

Hi Shannon
I'm a little late on the reply but....for what its worth.
I have found that the chicken i can tolerate the best is in a chicken salad. Maybe its because I'm still only a few months out but....I usually go to Whole Foods or even costco has a chicken salad that they make out of the rotisserie chicken. Thankfully only a few bites fills me up.... I just bought a whole rotisserie chicken from Costco last night and had a few bites but..... I think I ate it too fast though and got sick. That is actually my biggest problem with chicken is not eating it slow enough and getting sick from it :(

Good luck girl!

Topic: RE: How about some updates for us March surgeries?
Hello everyone! My surgery date was March 24th, this has been the best decision I have made and to do for myself!! .

I am happy with my progress so far, I am down 38 pounds and went from a tight 24 to an 18 and 2xl shirts to XL and some L. how exciting!! I had a rough time when I was on clear liquids, I was just tired of broth, jello, water, popsicles, broth, did i say broth other than that things have been great! I can eat pretty much anything I want, I try very small bites. I am on a shrimp kick right now, love it! and it is loaded with protein. I am good about getting in my water, but am trying to get in my protein shakes. which some days are great and others, well I just need to try harder.

Would i do this all again....absopositivley!!

One way to make sure your chicken comes out tender is to brine (soak) it in water and a little salt for about 10 minutes before you cook it. It keeps it nice and tender while you are cooking it. You can also put your chicken in spaghetti sauce (look for brands with lower carbs/sugar) and boil it. It comes out so soft and is soooo yummy! I have been eating meats too for a while now... I will say I didnt have any issues with them as long as I remember to CHEW up SMALL bites! But eating meat is great to get your protein in! Good Luck!

I'm doing ok since surgery, haven't had a lot of problems, although like I said in my previous post, chicken has decided to give me a hard time in the last couple of weeks. My weight loss has been slower than many, I'm down 30 pounds since surgery (plus the 22 I lost before surgery...for a total of 52 pounds lost since last year), but I am getting lots of comments on my weight loss now and am able to wear a size 18 (was a 22), so I'm just chugging along. I'm trying to increase my protein and exercise, been doing fairly well on both, but am going to try to increase them both even more. I can't believe that it's already been ten weeks since surgery.

I've eaten lots of meat since surgery, with not a lot of problems, including steak, ground beef, turkey, pork shoulder, 98% fat free hot dogs, turkey sausage, chicken, fish. But for some reason this last week or two chicken is not my friend, I had some grilled chicken that my husband cooked over the BBQ and it made me sick, I figured it was just too dry. So, having not had a lot of problems with chicken previously the next day we went to Costco and I got a rotisserie chicken and ate some, super moist, shouldn't have been a problem, but again, it made me sick. And I tried it one other time since then, but only a couple of bites but started to get that same icky feeling so I stopped. I'm frustrated because chicken is my favorite meat to eat and until now I've been able to eat it. So, this past week or two I haven't had much meat. I think I'll try some fish tonight.

I usually cook my meat in the slow cooker (crock pot). It comes out really moist and tender.

Well it's been 2 months. Wow what a total lifestyle change. I never imagined how wonderful I would feel. I have alot more energy to do more things. My housework stays caught up, I don't mind getting out of the house and going places. I even enjoy shopping again. I was even able to buy a dress at the GAP this weekend. It was an XXL but who cares. We all know that a XXL at the GAP is smaller than a 2x at Lane Bryant or Avenue. I am wearing size 20's and 22's and never thought in a million years that I would be happy about that. I remember the first time I had to buy a 20. I was devastated so its ironic that I am so happy to wear that size now. I've lost 61 pounds in a little over two months which feels pretty amazing. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me. I'm looking forward to living life.
P.S. One of my goals was to jump on the trampoline with my kids. I am so close that I can "taste" it. The weight limit is 250 and I am currently 253 so I will be able to jump, by myself at least, pretty soon. I can't wait!
