I am happy to say that I have lost 100 pounds.  This puts me below my surgeons goal
of 150.  What an amazing journey!

I don't know, Sometimes I think slow would have been way better... Here are my stats

Surgery Date 3/9/2009
Height - 5'8
Starting weight - 350
Current weight - 160
Weight loss - 190 pounds
Top size - before 5X now Med
Pants size - before 32 now 8
Starting BMI - 53.2
Current BMI - 24.3

I lost the first 100 pounds in the first 12 months and the last 90 has been over the last 10 months. But with rapid weight loss comes some wicked side effects. Skin wise I look like a sharpae puppy.. (meaning lots of saggy excess skin) I lost it so quickly my skin had no time to catch up. I never thought about strengh training, I always just did cardio so the muscles in my arms and stomach are very weak. And I have never been able to balance out my protine the right way.. (still looking for one I can eat/drink without wanting to vomit!)

Don't get discourged.. your doing great!!

I aspired to be 150, but I've been holding at 170. Everytime I dip below that weight, I feel like I have no energy. Everyone, including my surgeon and nutritionist, has told me that I should not lose anymore weight. I definitely could use some plastic surgery, which will get me closer, if I every go for it. I've lost 130lbs, which is incredible for me to even say! I think you should not focus so much on a number, but on how you feel. If you feel healthy and are following all the guidance your nutritionist has provided, then you have reached your goal. On the other hand, if you know you can do better with your eating and exercise, you know you need to put yourself to work! Congratulations and keep up the good work.

I made ti to my goal weight at 13 months out.  I've maintined my goal weight of 140 since I hit it, give or take a few lbs.  The lowest I ever got was 138 but that was only for a day.

I made it to my goal weight and have maintained it for a year now.  I am down 116lbs, which I would never have imagined and I am still astonished sometimes.

I think there is still the possibility of losing more weight  . . .I have a friend who is out a year more than us and in the last year she has lost about 13-14 lbs.  It is very slow and at a 1 lb. a month, but it is possible.

Keep you goals measurable and attainable . . . look how far we have come :o)

Wow, I can't believe it has been 18 months!!  Well, 19 now :-)

My weight loss journey has been amazing.  I am so grateful to have had this surgery.  I went from 304 lbs to 140 lbs in 13 months.  I was in a size 24 and now wear a size 4 pants and small shirts.

I work out and love being able to actually exercise.  I do a lot of weight training which has helped a lot so I have no plans for plastics.

It's getting harder as the time goes on because I can definitely eat more and feel like I am eating a lot of carbs lately.  chips, pretzels, crackers, that kind of stuff.  I need to focus on giving some of that up!

My daughter had surgery this past May and she is down 85 pounds!  And my two sons are having surgery in December!  I am so HAPPY for them!

Hope all of you are healthy and doing well!!  Amazing how fast the time has gone!

Well gang, here we are, 18 months out, and counting!

How is everyone doing in their weight loss journies?

Myself, I am down 102 pounds since surgery.  I now weigh 238 pounds.  Seem to have been on that for a while, though.

I am not on any meds I was before surgery, except for one for my stuffy nose.

I even joined a gym (Planet Fitness) back in June.  I am going between 2-3 times a week, and I have even increased my walking when it can be fit into my schedule.

My sleep apnea is MUCH better.  My machine pressure is down from 11 to 7.  And, I have a retest scheduled for Sept. 14, to see if I even NEED my CPAP any more.

Not sure if I can afford plastics, but, if I do,  I am getting them done locally.
