Thanks Melody! It is a lot, but it came at a price. I was really sick for a couple of months after, so that's probably why it was so much. I'll take it though lol.

Sounds like you are on a very good plan with your Nut.  I am sorry to hear you do not tolerate dense protein.  I have not had any problems with it since I was at 1.5 months out.  I cannot eat much when I do have dense protein but it is so good.

I am 4 months post RNY.  My dieticians have an 18 month progression food plan.  Currently I have 4 ounces at meals and can have fruit/veg or protein between meals.  I am to stay within the 600-800 calorie range.

Most days I am at about 700 calories, 80-90 gm protein and 120+ oz of fluid.

I find as the day goes on I am very full and sometimes nauseated.  I usually can't eat dense protein at dinner and have greek yogurt and fruit.  By the time I've taken my evening meds and supplements I am very, very full.

Thanks you guys!  It's great to know I'm not the only one.  I'm sure none of us will end up bald, right?

Topic: RE: Hair Loss

I have been losing A LOT of hair as well.  I am so disgusted by it that I can't even bear to pick the pile of it up off of the floor - I have to have my husband do it......which is is awesome about doing.  I have been losing for about 4 weeks now - 2 weeks of which I was in the hospital for kidney issues (very long story - but I am getting better now).  I have heard the hair loss stops around month 6 - but that REALLY worries me.  If I keep losing hair at this rate, I am pretty sure I won't have any left come month 6........I am suprised after I blowdry my hair that I even still have any.....daily.

I LOVE my hair - always have -- but, I think this is just one of our trials along the way to a healthier us.  I personally think it is worth it -- and this is coming from someone *****ally L-O-V-E-S her hair.

Sorry to say, I've never posted on the March forum before.  I really haven't explored all the OH site has to offer.

I will try to get over to this board more often.  I'm usually doing good if I can spend a half hour on the RNY board each day.

Best wishes to all my fellow Marchers!!

I don't know your starting weight or your height, but I'd trade weight loss with you.  I lost 18 pounds before surgery and have lost 46 since surgery.

I'm only 5 feet tall.  I get in 80-90 Gm of Protein daily.  I eat 4 ounces at each meal.  Usually get in 120+ oz of fluids and get all my supplements in.  I started taking probiotics after reading a thread on the RNY forum about 4 days ago.

I walk for 20-30 min 5 days a week and ride exercise bike 5-6 miles every night.

Guess I just lose more slowly.  It can be dangerous to compare to one another.  We are each so uniquely made.

Great job.  I'm losing much more slowly, but it is what it is.  I've went down 4 sizes in pants.  I am staying on my surgeons plan, so not much more I can do.

I cheer your success.
