Topic: RE: What is your intake per meal?
glad you're doing well. I think I can eat about a cup of food at each meal too. As for the sugar, just remember how difficult it was being heavy, going through surgery and the begining post op and how hard you've been working at the gym. I don't know about you, but that is enough to keep me away from sugar. I don't want to regain and have gone through all of this for nothing. To satisfy the sweet craving I love the protein ice-cream from eggface.

Topic: What is your intake per meal?
Hello All... my surgery was 3/11/09 (full gastric bypass) I have lost 110lbs and I feel amazing! I workout 3 days a week and I just ran my first mile!! I do have a concern about intake. I can eat just about anything (w/in reason) and I am easily eating 1 cup of food per meal. I am eating 2 to 3 meals a day w/ a couple of hearty drinks, V8 and protien. I'm wondering if a cup of food seems normal... Also I just noticed that I can tolerate sugar and it's very hard for me to avoid suger!! I actually stay'd away from ALL SUGARS until I hit a support group and another patient told me that he ate a cookie everyday!! Instead of me being shocked by the cookie I was shocked by the fact that he could eat sugar w/out dumping! Any suggestions about avoiding sugar? Someone told me to eat a bunch of sugar so that I would get sick and I would not eat it again... not sure that sounds smart!! Please help

Topic: RE: 5 Month Update for the March Crowd
Hey everyone, I'm a little late with my update but I guess better late than never. I had realize band surgery on march 20th and I'm down a total of 87lbs (including 34lbs pre-op) so I guess a total of 53lbs since surgery. I have gone from a size 2x/ 3x shirt and a 22/24 size jeans to a large shirt and 12/14 jeans. I am so glad I decided to get this done it has been the best decision i ever made for myself, I love my band!

I was 5 months out on Aug. 2.  As of yesterday, I am down to 258 pounds.  That makes me down 82 pounds from my pre-op testing weight of 340, and 148 from my all-time high of 406.

I am feeling great!  I exercise as much as I can, mostly by walking, and going to the gym once a week.  I walked into surgery wearing a 3XL polo shirt, and size 56 waisted pants.  I am now into XL polos, and I actually FIT (albeit a wee bit snug) into size 42 waist jeans!  As for dress shirts, I went down from a size 22 inch neck, and now am in an 18.5 inch neck.

It sounds like we are all doing great!!  I'm down 63 since surgery 3/27 and I'm perfectly happy losing my weight a little slower than the average bear.  I realized right away that I could not/should not compare my rate of loss with anyone else.  Soooo not fair to my recovering ego!  I am extremely happy I decided to do this for myself and my future!  Best of luck to all the Marchers!

I've only lost 67 lbs. since my 3-11-09 surgery but it's coming...slowly now, but still moving!  Let's all hang in there!  And I think, usually, the more weight you have to lose, the faster in the beginning...no offense to anyone!  :)
