My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow. I am trying to put a list together to go shopping. I know I will need lots of liquids, sugar free popsicles, sugar pudding and jello. I am so excited. I can't wait to get this done. What will you be buying?
Any suggestions on what to take to the hospitlal?
If you haven't already, take this time to start new habits. You still have a choice to eat what you want, but after surgery... Your new stomach chooses for you!
I went through a "mourning" of food before surgery. I took that last two weeks to say good bye to all of my old habits, and prepare myself mentally for this life changing event. Prepare yourself physically (such as walking) too. The better physical shape you're in, the quicker your recovery. I'm sure you've heard it all before, but I took the same advice and was up and ready to go 3 days after gastric bypass. The first few days can be very painful, so have your pain meds ready!
It's only a few days and then you're on your way to success.
Best wishes to you! Sincerely, Jeannine.
As we all know thing change, well also my surgery date changed again. Now it is now MARCH 23th. I can not stress that I can not wait. I feel all the time and effort has paid off. I have learned so much in this time and understand what I need to go for the rest of my life. I thank God for that along with my wonderful husband, my family and friends that have supported me and will be supporting me through this. I know that I made the best choice for my life. To be able to do the things I have not done for a very long time. My health is so important along with everyone that loves me.
Sorry my message was so goofed up there....I didn't realize the words were running on top of each other.
Best of luck to you...keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

My insurance cprovider is Preferred Care. It tool a month all told for my "tentatifve" date to become official. In fact, it was approved between Dec. 15 (when I checked with Preferred Care) and Dec. 30 (when the approval letter was dated).
Keep me posted ! :)
