Topic: Emily back in hospital
I just received word in my online support group that Emily is back in the hospital.  here is what was posted about her:

Hey guys
I got a call this morning from Emily, she is back in the hospital with atelectasis. George took her there, I think early this morning. She was running a temp, they are giving her breathing tx and antibiotics.
She is at St Francis in room 9114
PS this is wikipedia def of Atelectasis
Atelectasis is a collapse of lung tissue affecting part or all of one lung.[1] It is a condition where the alveoli are deflated, as distinct from pulmonary consolidation. Infant respiratory distress syndrome is another distinct type of atelectasis.

Topic: Friday March 6th Surgery Date!
Two days to my laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery...I'm excited and a little nervous but more excited than nervous right now. I'm sure the day of the surgery I'll be more nervous than excited LOL! I have a wonderful friend Janet who took the whole day off to be with me and she's staying over with me the night before surgery also! Her surgery is on the 23rd so we are supporting one another through our "new beginnings"

You said it!   Have am easy, event-free surgery . All will be well when we finally get there - I just heard from my doc's office - they said I didn't have 2 clearances - one of which I handied to them in January and the other was faxed in February.  At least I had copies.  We'll catch up afterwards.

My surgery is on 3/19, so I sort of know how you are feeling.  I'm nervous too, but I am thinking of all the wonderful things that are going to happen after my "new life" begins afterwards.  I should be really nervous, I've never been in the hospital a day in my life....well except when I was born.  I think I'm more nervous, about having any kind of mishap after I go home more than my initial hospital stay/surgery.  Try to think of all the wonderful things, like your husband & son.  Hang in there, I'm sure you will be just fine.

Hey Everyone,

I had my appointment with the Cardiologist and my EKG was normal! Thank God.  I do have a Mitral Valve Prolapse that I have known about for years and I have to have an Echo done on Thursday.  But the good news is that my surgery can go on as scheduled.  I hope everyone is hanging in there. Monday will be here before we know it.

Hard to believe that after all the rigamarole w/doctor's visits and pre-op testing, the date fast approaches. While a little nervous, I am psyched!  I've been on a liquid diet, part-time for a month (my original date was back in February) and strictly since 2/22.  While I thought I was doing well I know this is not a sustainable wieght-loss method. Surgery is! I took my pre-op photos last night and realize (no pun intended) that I have a ways to go - never-the-less, I am so ready for this.  I wish all of us on the upcoming schedule an easy go of it and much success.

Hi! I did the liquid diet as well but mine was much worse than yours to deal with. I started the protein shakes from Medifast on January 20th!!! I go into surgery tomorrow. I had a lil over 1 month and 1 week of nothing but 5 100 calorie 8oz protein shakes a day. I could also have water and hot tea or coffee no sugar and just a lil bit of skim milk. Just think if I can do it for that long you can hang in a couple more days.......
