Topic: RE: anyone have to lose weight before surgery?
 Hey Jen,

I too have to lose weight before surgery... 15lbs. I weighed myself this morning and 5lbs gone!!! My surgery in on the 18th, less that 2 weeks away, and I can't wait!!! I started my liquid diet (completely liquids) on Wednesay but did low-carb 2 weeks before that. I'm pmsing like something horrible (maybe some is me being so anxious about losing the weight pre-op and having the surgery) but I can also tell Im retaining water.. *sigh* the joys of being a woman! lol

Keep up the good work and keep me posted!! Losers bench HERE WE COME!!! :)

Congrats!!!  I am having RNY on March 25th.  I am trying to get things ready and have everything I need at home.  My mom and dad are coming to our house to be with me and help take care of our son too.  I got a new hair cut and need to color in the next couple days.  I am wearing makeup too and I haven't been in a long time.    I am going out to eat at our favorite steak house this weekend I think.  Keep in touch.

Good Luck to you!!

I'm so happy everything went smoothly for you!!  I was thinking of you while all that snow was coming down, and wondering if everything was ok. I hope to hear more from your experience as I prep for mine!

Topic: So glad it's over!

My surgery was Monday in the middle of our snowstorm. So my day started out very stressful as I tried to get to the hospital in our major snowstorm. I think God did this on purpose so I would think about the surgery. It took me 3 hours to get there. Once I arrived, they drew blood, did a urine sample and sent me to pre-op. Things went really fast from there. Lot's of poking and prodding and questions, but nothing uncomfortable. Once my surgeon came in to see me, I was on my way. They wheeled me into the surgery, I moved to the table and made a few jokes to my surgeon about limiting the amount of ****tails he was having brought in. Lol
After that, I don't remember a thing. The anesthesiologist asked me to take a few deep breaths with the mask on and I was out. Next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room on a morphine drip. I wasn't liking the way it made me feel so I asked my mom to have them get me something else, and they did. (I have a very low tolerance for pain meds, they make me feel too weird). Anyway, I stayed there for a few hours and then went to my room. Everything was good, no complaints.
The only thing I have bothering me is gas and bloating and for some reason I'm really weepy. I am uncomfortable, but that's to be expected. I took a shower today and walked a little bit, even though I dreaded the thought of getting up and moving, it made all the world of difference. It really helps to move even though you don't feel like it. I was able to have 2 bites of cream of wheat today and I have also been drinking my protein shakes and water. Fortunately, no nauseousness. I'm dreading vomiting, so I'm being really careful.
I thank you all so much for your support and I look foward to see you all on the loser side soon.
