Hello, Globirdie!  I'm Kelly and I am also scheduled for the 25th...I'm have the Realize band, though.  Anyway...I was super excited when I found out (I just found out on Thursday that I was approved).  However, today in the mail I got a large packet from my surgeon with tons of forms to sign, 4 appointments to get to, and financial obligations to take care of.  I am now freakin' out a little.  I want this so much...but, holy cow!  A lot to do in the next 3 weeks!  Not really eating my feelings, but still very nervous.  It's all natural, right?!
Anyway, nice to meet you!!

I can understand the odds   I have Charcots foot a dropped arch that once the bones heal they are invertied upside down     that happend to only 3% of the Diabetics in the world.

Then I had a endoscopy and found I had a yeast fungus growing in it... The doctor said it is rare but not uncommon.  How that happens I have no Idea.

Well I hope all goes well for you .... I hate gaining weight when you loose it  I guess that is why we are all here.

Erosion is a side effect of the band and happens in 1.3% of the band done. Theree is no real reason they can pinpoint for mine.  it can happen because of the band being too tight, ect.....  but wasn't my reason.

so I unfortunately had to have my friend removed.  I've regained alot of weight I'd lost with out my band so I'm lookin forward to a new buddy!!  a sleeve!

I was not aware the band would erode.   I have a co-worker that she had the saline removed because she was having problems and gaind all of hte 65 pounds she lost.

How did it erode

I have been reading the post here for surgery dates in March and I think I am really out of  touch   Everyone seems so excited  I am feeling exhausted and find myself binging more then I Have in  4 months.

I have a feeling it is just the relief of not having to jump thru hoops and round up the ducks and can now do other things besides keep appointments and maybe even clean my house.

Today I did what I always do when I am out of control I take the journal I have been keeping for a while ...Get a cup of coffee and sit and read it  then add a new entry....it puts thing in perspective.

It may be that I would self medicate myself with food to feel numb and not deal with stress..  But now it is like   OMG how the hell am I going to feel numb or zone out.     My answer is that it will be replace with something I have not concept of or what but it will be different for sure.

Anyone else feel this way once they got approved.

I am a little confused our ticker says you lost 76 pounds  is that right.. I can not imagine the surgeon requireing more with that weight loss.

I did have to loose 10 pounds and I lost about 20 so I think I am ok..My date is 3/25

Good Luck

I am not so worried about the surgery  (I have had 7 over the years so I know that will be ok)
I am more worried about not being successful after.

Well my feeling is a heart attach can kill me unexpectedly too.  I have had cancer, gangarene and a deformed foot related to diabeties....At least I have the option of reversing it and making it to my 80th birthday something some of my reletives never had an option to do.

Have you talked to you counselor she maybe able to help.

Thank you so much.  I hope He has a place in His heart for us.     It is a long road getting here for sure.  My only suggestion to save you time and keep on track.  Is buy yourself a binder and sheet protectors and carry it with you to every appointment.

At every appointment asks for a print out of any notes or test results...It is priceless.  I found that with the new digital record keeping.   You can get test results at the hospitla for proceedurs doen before you leave the bed

I had to have a cardiac cath because a stress test showed a shadow...Turned out that my boobs were to big.   Then the Friday before the catherization I had to have an endoscopy.... The Gastroenterologist almost canceled it until I gave him the copy of the stress test.  In less then 5 seconds it was on again.....That could have cost me weeks  oh and if you can drop off copies to the surgeon.  Ihad to much in my file but it got me approved within a 4 days.

So start making it now.  Oh and you may need to by a bag to put it in...It gets that big
