UPDATE TO MY 3/9/09 POST (Bruises & Pain following VSG)
The pain began to gradually subside last night and is not as bad today. I spoke to my surgery center and they said it is normal and to not be concerned. (Things were 'rearranged' during the procedure and the bruises and pain will go away in time - just like ANY bruise.)

March 23rd is my surgery date.... i have been marking off the days on the calendar...

whoooo hoooo yeah for you...what a wonderful feeling isn't it.... i was on cloud nine and a little numb at first...then slowly as i started spreading the word i had a surgery date the reality started to set in.... i am soooo ready now.... you will be ready in no time...... when is your surgery date...

Congrats, the 18th is my pre op day... i will be thinking and praying for you.....it is exciting at first i was numb when i got my surgery date, it was like a dream, it still feels that way, i guess the reality of the matter won't set in till i am at the hospital in the bed being prepped for surgery...

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone else who is having their surgery tomorrow, on the 11th. Starting to get a little anxious, but I know that it is just nerves. Everything will be great and I will be looking back on this day sometime next year, like whoooo!!!

FYI I still have some bruising from my surgery, although yellow now bruising is normal. As far as your bruised area hurting when you drink, I would speak to your doctor. Some pain is normal, NOT stabbing pain for 5 minutes, I would suggest you inform your doctor.
