Congratulations!  I had my RNY on Monday and was released on Wednesday.  Surgery was fine.  No soreness or anything.  However, the swallow test did me in.  The solution did not want to go into the pouch and when it did, it did not want to leave.  I was sick to my stomach all day.  Wednesday was a little better and today was much better.  I am now able to get in 2 oz of liquids every hour without upchucking!  Hooray!!

Robyn, March 24 is my date too.  I have been on the protien shakes for the past 2 weeks, and will be until I have surgery.  I lost 14 pounds the first 2 weeks, made the surgeon happy.  I have to admit though that I have been eating yougart, cottage cheese, chicken and tuna. high protien low fat stuff.  But now that I am less then 2 weeks away I have been trying to stick with just shakes.  I think the important thing is to lose wt before surgery.  Dawn H.

Oh Emily,

How scary that must have all been for you.  Thank God you're doing better now.  I hope you'll not have any more scares and will continue to recover.

First of all, sorry you're not feeling well.  I hope you feel better very soon.  Second, I would call your surgeon's office if I were you and see what they say.  You may just have a small sickness that will be over by the 16th, but I personally would speak with my surgeon to be on the safe side.

Best of luck!
