Thanks for the encouragement!  I see so many people who have lost 80, 90 or 100 pounds that my little ol' 65 seems short in comparison.  One lady in my support group had surgery on March 16 and is down 120 pounds!!  I guess I'll just have to accept the 'slow & steady' route! :)

Just remember this, guys lose faster then girls in the first place.  The other thing is that for people who were over 350lbs prior to surgery it comes off faster because they have more to loose.  I'm down 104lbs since surgery now and 134lbs since dec 9th.  I started at 426 though and am 6'4" so it comes off easier.  Just stick to a good diet and exercise and you will do just fine.

Looks like March 9 was a popular date for surgery! I have lost 64 lbs, so I'm right there with you Jen. I feel like it is going really slow compared to others,  but I have been extremely greatful not to have had any problems at all, and I feel great. My weight seems to fall off in 10 lb bunches. I will go for 3 or 4 weeks without losing anything and then all of a sudden I will weigh myself one day and I will be down 5 or 10 lbs. It's strange, but as long as it's working I'll take it.

I can't believe how much some of you have lost already, how amazing!

Glad we're in this together! :)

I lose the same as you, except I would be happy with 10 lb bunches.  Mine are more like 3-4 lb bunches every 3-4 weeks.  :(

Guys lose weight differently then girls.  I'm also 6'4" and I started at 426 was down to 303 this morning.  Hoping to make it to 299 by Friday!

I've only lost 67 lbs. since my 3-11-09 surgery but it's coming...slowly now, but still moving!  Let's all hang in there!  And I think, usually, the more weight you have to lose, the faster in the beginning...no offense to anyone!  :)

It sounds like we are all doing great!!  I'm down 63 since surgery 3/27 and I'm perfectly happy losing my weight a little slower than the average bear.  I realized right away that I could not/should not compare my rate of loss with anyone else.  Soooo not fair to my recovering ego!  I am extremely happy I decided to do this for myself and my future!  Best of luck to all the Marchers!
