2 month update Marchers... How are you doing?
My surgery was on 3/4 so I am three months out. Lost 14# before surgery and so far 38# since surgery. After week one, I have lost at a pretty steady pace of 2# per week--lightweight with co-morbidities. Last week I lost 4# and so far this week have not lost a thing. Not sure if this is a stall or my body is just averaging out the big loss last week.. Went from snug size 14 to size 10 so far. Not at a healthy BMI nor at goal--very short--only 4'10"". I am off blood pressure, diabetic and cholesterol meds. Blood sugars are out of the diabetic range --would like to see them lower--and blood pressure is in normal range. No labs yet so not sure about cholesterol.
I am still on two protein shakes per day. Pouch not tolerating real dense meats. Have just been able to add chicken salad. Eat a lot of tuna salad and baked fish, occaisional gr beef and refried beans or chili. I am eating about 1/4 c protein and 1/4 c fruit at each meal. Occaisionally add vegetables. Pretty much sticking with program as I have a healthy fear of failure and definitely dont want to find out what dumping feels like.
Doing OK on fluids. Was only able to get about 42 oz in including shakes but have increased this week to about 52oz.
Trying to get in ten 1/2hr sessions of exercise per week. In morning walking treadmill while doing arm exercises with 6# weights for about 15 minutes, then increase the speed for another ten minutes. then increase and run five minutes, then gradually slow back down for about 7 minutes.
My jazzercise class I was going to in the evening just relocated further away so I just added evening treadmill session two days ago. Alternate walking and running 5 minutes for 25 minutes. This is pretty grueling so plan to set up some kind of reward each week if I follow through. Don't want it to be so tough I won't do it so will switch back to Jazzercise class if I find I'm not keeping it up. Trying to find a routine I will follow through with.
That pretty much covers it. I enjoy reading the posts on this site. Feel they are very helpful
